"I CAN TAKE HER, IF YOU WANT," Eden offered, softly whispering as his sister's head laid limply on Y/n's forearm. Already on the plane, Faye was ecstatic to talk to Y/n and gush about movies and such to distract herself from the air pressure. She ended up falling asleep in the middle of the movie they were watching, hence the situation now.
The plane had stabilized, allowing everyone to walk around. Of course, Tony simply wouldn't allow them to fly any commercial airline and ushered them onto one of his private jets instead. "No, it's fine." She smiled tightly, trying to look back at the movie. Eden nodded with a small smile, going back to his seat.
Everyone was in separate rows except Y/n and Faye. Eden sat across from the aisle in between them, a book propped out in front of him while Charlie was seated a row in front of him. Chip silently scrolled through his phone in the meantime, having already killed an hour by talking to Ebony.
After filling Ebony in about their entire situation, the girl fainted out of shock. She woke up soon after, the group laughing as she normalized a bit after the entire shove of information into her brain. Nobody bothered to bring up the conversation of Peter when Y/n came back from the late night talk. It was a sensitive topic, and they were solely moving to restart.
Why would they even bother to bring up the past? Faye woke up with a bit of turbulence, the airplane slightly jolting as the girl's head bumped uncomfortably into Y/n's arm. She whined softly, raising her head as Y/n gently looked at her. "How much longer?" The little girl looked up, watching an air hostess politely wheel a cart filled with snacks and drinks down the aisle.
"Another four hours or so," The older one spoke, reaching up and making her hair into a messy ponytail. Faye sighed, pointing to the TV that stretched across the back of both seats in front of them. "Can I watch something else, Y/n?" The girl nodded, moving out of her seat and giving a slight grin to Faye. "Totally, I have to talk to Chip for a little, anyways."
Before she could go to her best friend, Eden clasped his hand around her wrist and tugged her gently. The boy asked carefully, searching for the right words as his brown eyes shone with concern. "Hey. If you need anything at all, I'm here. I-I know we haven't known each other for long as compared to you, Chip, and Ebony, but I—"
"—I know, you mean well. It's okay, Eden. As much as you're here for me, I'm here for you too, y'know?" Y/n offered a light laugh, her smile still not reaching her eyes. Eden's grin grew, glad she understood even though she didn't look too well herself. Knowing that she'd rather confide in her best friend, he let go of her and gave her another smile, turning back to his book.
Charlie took out his earbuds in an instant, recognizing the slightly worn out converse that peeked out at his left side. He looked at her in a questioning manner, mouthing some words and jabbing his thumb back. Y/n could barely read his lips, but feebly nodded as he stood up and pocketed his phone.
The two retreated into a separate section, the storage section, if you will. It was filled with multitudes of snacks and an array of drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Earning some looks from the hostesses, they raised their eyebrows, but didn't say much and retreated to their own seats at least a few yards away from them.
Thus, granting them another smudge of privacy. "You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. We can talk about something else." His hands clasped over hers, a small smile on his face as he tilted his head. The girl shook her head, tears spilling out of her eyes as she choked on her words slightly. "N-No, I think I've been distracting myself for too long."
Chip silently pulled her into a hug, letting out a sigh as he pecked the top of her head. He held her close, letting her sob and tug the rims of his blue and black flannel over his white tee. "I should've seen it sooner. Damn, that nerd is such an asshole." He cursed, licking his lips and shaking his head.
With a small giggle, she pulled away from him and looked up at him as more tears streaked down her cheeks. "Bad mouthing him won't do anything, Chip." He shrugged with a boyish grin, a small laugh of his own escaping his mouth. Pulling his sleeves to his wrists slightly, he pushed some of his hair back. "But it feels good, doesn't it?"
"Yeah, he's an asshole."
Chip's eyebrows furrowed as he suppressed a cackle, continuing on stupidly. "Such an asshole!" Y/n rolled her eyes, now bouncing in her seat like a little child as the tears disappeared. A grin stretched across her once frowning lips. "Can you imagine? The absolute nerve the boy had to do that! My God!"
He laughed, his head going back before he faced her again. Snorting, he crossed his arms and let go of her hands, imitating Peter. "Hey, I'm Spider-Man and I'm going to date you before being a total bitch!" Now, Y/n was out right losing it as she was slapping his knees, keeled over with pure joy and amusement etched across her face.
"Hi, I'm a little nerd that's been trying to get with you as my alter ego. So, what do you say, go out with me?" She mocked him, feeling a lot better than she did ten minutes ago. It was a bit harsh and cruel to mock someone who was equally as broken inside, but it let out a lot of her pent up aggression and frustrations.
It was more satisfying to her to know that Chip always seemed to know how to relieve her anguishes in a positive way. Still laughing, Y/n wiped away some of the tears that built up from her laughter. "I love you," She said, hugging him tightly as he returned the hug with the smile reaching his mossy eyes.
"Aw, I love you too, bitch."
