『con·quer | verb | successfully overcome a problem or weakness』
PETER HAD BEEN 'LIVING A LITTLE' FOR A YEAR NOW, his beloved girlfriend at his side along with the ones that he was so happy to call his family. Nothing had changed very much, aside from everyone getting a bit older and the couple finally defining a title when Y/n was ready. Of course, they didn't have much of a choice since the media quickly outed them.
Y/n didn't mind very much and was pretty content with it. The two now lived happily in a separate apartment. Both of them had stable part-time jobs on campus since they moved near it and they knew that if anything happened to fall apart, Tony could probably just buy the entire apartment building itself and get away with it.
With that support that they didn't really want to rely on, they lived their own life. Currently, Y/n was getting ready for work. Her job was a student production assistant and she was incredibly involved in different plans and events at nightclubs or even football games that the NYU desired to host.
Peter, on the other hand, made cash as a peer tutor. It made sense as to why. The boy may have not been heavily talented when it came to speaking for large crowds, but he could do well with a one-on-one, and was incredibly knowledgeable on the classes that he was tutoring. Throwing her hair back into a messy bun, Y/n fixed her shirt.
Her shirt was an assortment of different renditions of Vincent Van Gogh's 'Starry Night' printed across it in three by three rows. It was tucked into deep blue jeans that were held up by a black belt. Putting on a tan wool sweater, she looked at herself one time and let out a satisfied sigh. It was early on a Saturday morning and Peter was the only one with a class in the evening.
Y/n, on the other hand, didn't have any weekend classes. Since Peter was majoring in two different things at once, he had more credits involved and had to have weekday classes and occasional weekend classes. Peter, who was getting ready for his tutoring lessons with a quad that didn't understand Calculus, smiled while he pulled on a blue jacket over his red shirt.
"You look amazing," He said with confidence, an asset that he'd been gaining over time. Y/n laughed, turning her head while her bun bounced with her movements lightly. Shaking her head and reaching up to kiss his cheek, the girl moved onto fixing another layer of EOS on top of her lips. "You always say that, Peter. You look great too."
He grinned at her, completely love struck. With a small giggle of his own, he watched her pick up her small backpack filled with journals, notes, and different printed out papers of their previous plans on the upcoming event to a cabin up in the mountains for a few nights. The boy kept smiling at her, but it dropped when he realized he was going to be late.
Kissing her cheek, he yelped and rushed off. "Shit, I'm going to be late! U-Um, don't let any boys get your number unless they're not flirting with you. Be safe, be careful, call if anything goes wrong, and um. . . don't be stupid!" Shooting a thumbs up, he didn't even let her respond as he sprinted out the door and went to the campus library.
Y/n rolled her eyes with a light laugh, taking out her phone to see a recent text from Ned. He was talking about how he might've left his indigo journal at their place after their little study group the other night with Ebony and Viva. Texting him back about how he could pick it up if they met for lunch at the campus cafe, she pocketed her phone afterwards.
Checking to make sure she took the last of her things, Y/n left the apartment and gave a smile to the landlady. Going outside, other onlookers watched her as she let Menace out and carry her away quickly to the same classroom at the University that they always met up at. The student production team consisted of her, Viva, Ebony, Marie, and a boy named Nathaniel.
Nathaniel was a bit of a timid boy who oddly reminded her of past Peter. He was quiet, shy, but incredibly creative and they were glad to consider him the main creator of everything. He had glasses, amber hair in curls, and bluish-silver eyes. Marie was lively and the type to hype up anybody. With bright pink hair and dazzling green eyes, she was an absolute cheerleader of anyone.
"Alright, ideas," Marie was energetic as usual, Nathaniel slumping in his seat behind her with his own set of plans buried in his hands. However, his peace was interrupted when he yelped, his books being tore out of his hands by the girl. Viva's eyes even widened a bit, the girl relaxed in the soft chair as her eyes drooped occasionally.
The only person keeping her awake was Ebony, the girl jabbing her every now and then whenever her eyes threatened to close. Ebony eventually gave up, typing away at her computer to add more bullet points to the document. "Maybe we can just do a day in? Like, if you're single or it's complicated, you can go to one side of the building. The other side is more soft and romantic."
Marie's head shot up at that, a growing grin shaping her lips as she jumped up and down. "You're literally the greatest, Y/n!" Y/n just smiled, too lazy to get up and jump with her when the girl laced her hands with hers. Marie didn't mind, still jumping, but not forcing her to stand up. Nathaniel tilted his head back with a soft groan. "What's our budget?"
"Well, we already calculated the cost for the cabin. Plus, all the students turned in their permission slips and money for it. W-We're in debt by a few thousand." She quietly spoke, Viva's eyes shooting open at the idea while she snazzily snapped her fingers and smirked at Y/n. "You know what to do."
Sighing, Y/n pulled out her phone and dialed a number.
Marie turned to her, blinking. "What are you doing?"
"Calling Tony Stark."
