PETER SIGHED, flopping back onto his bed with a tired look in his eyes. His brown eyes were locked onto the ceiling, hand still clasped tightly to his expensive phone that Tony had generously bought for him. On the screen, a string of texts between him and his mentor. It was Tony officially 'kicking him out'.
Of course, he cared for the kid and would always take him in with open arms, but when May's frantic and worried calls about Peter's whereabouts became too much, Tony was forced to take action. May brushed her hair back, opening the door with a exasperated sigh. "Um, I'm going to work. If you need anything, call. I left money on the counter for Thai food."
The boy nodded along, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. May let out another mumble of compliance, throwing up a thumbs up before rushing out the door. Peter didn't need to know that she'd most likely be a bit late, probably making it up by kissing up to her boss with a cup of coffee out of desperation.
"Thai food, huh?" His eyes drifted to the analog clock that showed him the numbers of time in a vibrant shade of red. It read a few minutes after noon, Peter scrunched up his blankets underneath his fingers before standing up and shooting a quick text. Knowing that she probably gave Wren, Viva, and Faye a day off after yesterday, he texted Y/n.
Offering her a place to hangout, he waited for her response and soon enough a bubble filled with dots danced across his screen. After a few moments, simple reply showed up, a "fuck yeah" and a peace sign beside it. Stretching, he pulled on a faded blue hoodie and kept the science pun t-shirt he had on.
Stuffing the money into his pocket, Peter waited a bit to check if he forgot anything. Rolling up the ends of his sleeves, his web shooters popped out. Letting a comforting sigh escape his lips, he pondered briefly before rushing out the door. He skidded to a stop in front of Delmar's, buying some of Y/n's favorite candy and paying Murph and Mr. Delmar a visit.
Reverting back to the Thai place, he wasn't surprised to see Y/n lingering at the entrance. Y/n never really liked entering places on her own, especially at restaurants or any food place. She always preferred to wait for the person and found it awkward to look like the person who got ditched on their first date.
"Hey," He made her look up from her phone, a small smile taking over her lips as she turned off the device and stuffed it into her pocket. Y/n drank in his sight for a second, even with a cheesy shirt, old sweater, and slightly ripped jeans, the boy still managed to look incredibly flawless. He scanned her as well.
She had on a maroon sweater that read 'Mischief Managed' at the top in wavy gold letters. Y/n also sported a high waisted gold skirt along with some simple white shoes accompanied by black stripes. "U-Um, ready to go?" He snapped out of his own trance, stuttering as the girl giggled and nodded.
Opening the door for her, she walked in with him following behind her. The bell rang, signaling the entrance of another customer as they both took a seat. Y/n trusted Peter with the menu, having never been to this place before as he expertly recommended some of the best stuff. The waiter seemed a bit off, looking around. "Your aunt is not here?"
Peter shook his head, knowing that the boy still had the hots for his aunt even though he was pretty sure that she'd been here with Dylan before. "N-No, just me and her." It felt odd to let those words slip out, his mind clicking for a bit. He always imagined that he'd say something like this, but with Rebecca at his side, way before he met Y/n.
He never really did get to say those words, the odd girl always choosing vintage locations to hangout and on rare occasions, her place. Spacing out again, Y/n took notice and waved her hand slowly in front of his face. "Peter? Hey, Peter. Earth to Parker?" He smiled at her, shaking his head slightly. "I'm good, I'm good."
Nodding, Y/n leaned back. "So, Tony told me he 'kicked you out'?" Peter laughed softly and pulled up the spam of texts that collected over time between him and May, most of the messages holding a gray color. "Yeah, apparently I'd fallen asleep at his place so many times and forgot to text May where I was that she'd spam me and then move onto him."
Coughing on her water slightly, Y/n swore that she almost looked like that one scene of Violet in the restaurant in Incredibles 2. "That sounded so wrong, Peter." His mind took a while to register, blinking momentarily. His face seemed to scrunch together in confusion, the boy speaking up. "How?"
"Peter, are you recollecting any of what you just said?"
It took a while, but red soon bloomed across his entire face, eyes widening. She giggled at his reaction, taking another sip of her water. Soon enough, their orders arrived and the two poked at their food, occasionally trading pieces and talking in between bites. "Yeah, no totally. Honestly, Thor is literally just muscles and skin, nothing else." Y/n concluded.
Peter quirked a brow, smirking. "What does that make Spider-Man?" Shrugging, she crossed her legs and shot him a teasing grin. Leaning back, Y/n pretended to feign innocence and yawned softly. "I don't know. He looks pretty weak for a superhero, y'know? He's just so scrawny and short!"
He whisper yelled at her, slamming his palms on the table lightly and only amusing her further. Peter's eyes were locked onto her e/c ones as she relaxed in her chair. "I'm not scrawny and short! In fact, I'm a little above the average male height and have tons of abs, as you've felt before!"
Now it was Y/n's turn to be red, Peter profusely apologizing after.
