I Knew I Loved You

Chapter 14

It's been a week since I started to work. I'm getting used to it now. Late na ako umuuwi, but I still manage to party with my friends, and to hang out with my cousins as well.

      Hindi ko dala ang kotse ko ngayon. Masyado kasing traffic, sayang sa gas.

"Ma'am Gabbie?" Si Joanna.

"Yes?"

"I just want to remind you of your meeting with Architect Corpuz po on 3 pm," ani nito.

I looked at my clock-watch and it's already 2:30 pm.I smiled at her. "Thank you Joanna!"

I wonder who this Architect is?

It's already 3:00 pm and this Architect hasn't come yet. Why is he taking so long? Biglang may kumatok sa aking pintuan and si Joanna iyon.

"Ma'am? Nandito na po si Arch. Corpuz," ani Joanna.

"Oh! Just tell him to come in," sabi ko. Tumango naman siya.

"Sorry I'm a bit late, it's just too-" natigil siya. "G-gabbie?"

He seemed so shocked and so do I. "M-Mike?"

"Gabbie!" napatayo naman ako para salubungin si Mike.

"Long time no see!" Masaya kong sabi.

"Wow!" Napanganga siya. "I can't believe I see you again!"

"Same! Take a seat," maligaya kong sabi.

"Let's start," sabi ko sa kanya.

"So, as you can see here Ms. Mortera-" pinutol ko siya.

"No need to be formal Architect," sabi ko sa kanya. "Gabbie na lang."

"Then just call me Mike na lang din," nakangiting sabi ni Mike at tumango na lamang ako.

"So as I was saying a while ago, here are my designs..." at pinakita niya ang mga iyon.

Tumango ako. "Your designs are very good!"

He seems so overwhelmed. "Thank you."

Tinignan ko pa yung iba pa niyang designs and to be honest, they're all good.

"I'm gonna set a meeting together with the other employees so they can also decide for the design of the building," I said, smiling at him.

He nodded. "Sure, Gabb. By the way, are you free? Gusto lang sana kitang maka kwentuhan pa kasi ang tagal na nating hindi nagkikita o kahit mag usap man lang!"

Wala naman akong masyadong ginagawa. "Actually, I'm not busy today. Free ako ngayon, ikaw ba?"

"Oh sige ba!" Masayang sabi ni Mike.

Sa Starbucks kami pumunta para mag kape. Hindi naman ganoon kalayuan ang Starbucks sa aking pinagtatrabahuhan.

"So, kamusta ka na? You're much different compared to the Gabbie that I used to know years ago!" sabi ni Mike.

"Well, hindi naman ako nagbago. It's just that I became more matured now. Eh ikaw? Ibang iba ka na rin ngayon!" sabi ko naman sa kanya.

He chuckled. "Akalain mo, magkikita pa pala tayo? Kamusta ba ang Paris?"

"Okay naman, masaya... but I guess it's really more fun in the Philippines! Dito ako lumaki eh. Besides, nandito rin ang mga pamilya ko," nakangiti kong sabi sa kanya.

Tumango siya. "You're right." Patuloy niya akong tinitigan. "I can't believe! Parang gumanda ka ata ngayon?"

I chuckled. "Bakit? Pangit ba ako dati?" Biro ko sa kanya.
