Chapter 35

Masyadong nakakapagod ang araw na ito. Buti na lamang ang magaling na si Miguel. I don't know what to do kung may masama pang mangyayari sa kaniya, lalo na't mukhang siya nga si Henry.

Many thoughts came up to my mind after all what happened. Sino namang gagawa nito kay Henry? Maybe I should get some help from my cousin. Anong motibo nila kay Henry at ginawa nila ito sa kaniya?

Nakatulog na 'ko sa kakaisip ng kung ano ano. Kinabukasan, naroon naman si Aldrei.

"Good morning!" Masiglang bati niya sa akin.

I smiled at him. "Good morning."

"Have you eaten? Let's eat!"

Umiling naman ako. "Hindi pa nagigising si Grace. Lagi kasi kaming magkasabay tuwing kakain. Baka magtampo 'yun. Next time na lang."

He sighed. "Alright. I'll look forward to what you said." Tumango naman ako at tuluyan na siyang umalis.

Bigla namang nagising na si Grace. "Who was that?" She said while rubbing her eyes.

"Bebe mo," biro ko. I laughed and she just rolled her eyes.

"Tumigil ka nga! Si Nygel lang ang mamahalin ko!" She spatted then laugh. "Pero bakit daw nagpunta rito?"

I sighed. "He invited me for breakfast but I refused. Baka magtampo ka sa akin kapag hindi kita sinamahan ngayon!"

She chuckled. "You really are the best cousin ever."

  We had our breakfast at the nearest fastfood chain. After noon, bumalik na kami sa hotel para maligo at pumasok na ulit sa trabaho. 

I went to Aldrei's office due to some ideas related to work. I also want to ask if he's okay or whatever. It's been a while since I'm not hanging out with him.

Papasok na ako ng opisina niya ng narinig kong may kausap siya sa telepono. I decided to not knock on his door since it's already open and I don't want to disturb him and the person he's talking to through the phone.

"I already told you! I can't do it! Hindi ako traydor tulad mo!" He shouted.

"Do what?" Hindi ako nakapag pigil. I'm curious. "Gawin ang alin, Drei?"

He seemed so surprised that I was there. Hindi kaagad siya nakapag salita. "I-It's nothing, Gabb. B-Bakit biglaan ang p-pagpunta mo r-rito?"

I sighed. "I just wanna talk to you about the construction design. Gusto lang rin kitang kamustahin... hindi na rin tayo nakakalabas."

"W-Well... I-I'm okay," nagkakanda utal utal niyang sinabi.

My eyebrows furrowed. "Are you okay? Is everything okay?"

Tumango naman siya kaagad. "Y-Yes! O-Of course."

"Well, speaking of what I really came here for, I think of other ideas for-"

Pinutol niya kaagad ako. "Can we just talk about this next time? I-I just need to be alone for now."

Ilang segundo naman ang lumipas bago ako makatango. "S-Sure. But if you need someone to talk to, always remember that I'm here."

Tumango siya. "Salamat."

Umalis na ako at nang malapit na ako sa pintuan bigla naman akong tinawag ni Aldrei. "Gabb?"

Nilingon ko naman siya.

"You didn't heard anything, right?"

Umiling na lamang ako. He nodded and sighed like it was a relief. I'm being curious right now. What's happening to him? He was okay a while ago when he invited me for breakfast but he suddenly became frustrated right now.

I headed back to my office quietly, thinking about the possible reasons why Aldrei is acting like that. I'm not really with him these past few weeks and maybe he's dealing with his problem for a long time already!

"Couz, everything alright?" Tanong ni Grace.

Tumango naman ako. "Yes, but something's off."

Her eyebrows furrowed. "What do you mean?"

I sighed. "Pumunta ako kanina sa opisina ni Drei, may kausap siya. You know I didn't mean to hear what they've been talking about but it's just an accident that I heard what he was saying. Sabi niya sa kausap niya na hindi raw siya traydor. I wonder who is the person he's talking to?"

"Hm..." huminga nang malalim si Grace. "Well, that doesn't sound new to me since I know that they are facing a big problem right now. Malaki ang utang nila, remember?"

I continued to do my work in my office and sometimes go out to check on how the construction is doing. I'm already here for a few months already. Maraming nangyari, hindi lamang sa opisina ngunit pati na rin sa personal kong buhay.

After I've done all my things, I packed up immediately para makauwi na. Bago ako bumalik sa aking tinutuluyan, dumaan muna ako sa bahay nina Miguel.

I knocked on their door. "Miguel? Miguel?"

He opened the door. I smiled at him. "Hi!"

"What brings you here?" Malamig niyang sabi.

"Nothing. I just wanna check to see how you're doing. Can I come in?" I said then rolled my eyes. He sighed and move out of the way so I can come in.

"Hindi biro ang papunta rito, Gabbie. You should've just met me at the other place. Not here!" He spatted.

"I'm safe! Duh!" I exclaimed. "You don't have to worry about me. Besides, your friends brought me here!"

His eyebrows furrowed. "Who?"

Bigla nmang nagpakita at sumilip sa bintana ang mga lalaking naghatid sa akin. Miguel sighed. "Oh fuck."

He glared at them and they left immediately. I shook my head and took a deep breath. "So... how are you? Okay na ba ang pakiramdam mo?"

He nodded. "Yes. But I can't help but think of anything that would make me remember all the memories that have happened in the past."

We sat down on the sofa. "May naalala ka ba?"

He sighed. "I've been dreaming a lot lately. Maybe this is related to what has happened in the past," aniya. "I was in a fast ferry when a man beat me up and the other one shot me. I don't remember their faces clearly."

Napaisip ako roon. "May naaalala ka ba kung bakit ginawa sa'yo 'yun?"

He shook his head. "I-I'll try to remember-"

I held his hand. "Don't pressure yourself, Miguel. Lahat ng mga ala-ala mo ay babalik din sa tamang panahon. You don't have to do this by yourself, you have me. I'll help you."

He smiled and kissed me softly. "Thank you, Gabb."

I don't think courtship is needed. It's pretty obvious that the feeling is mutual. Besides, we never broke up anyway. He's Henry and I'm sure of it. Alam kong isang umaga, gigising siya nang naalala na niya lahat ng nangyari sa kaniya, at sa amin.
