Ava
We were all sitting around camp. I was laying on Appa just trying to relax. I was dead tired. Since we were at the temple and I first met Azar every time I went to sleep I dreamed of myself being Azar. Almost like a memory. Each one more disturbing then the last. Ranging anything from guiding mortal souls into the fog of lost souls. Or killing thousands in a rage. It is vivid and I can feel each and every blood splatter on my hands. I have resorted to sleeping in intervals if at all.
The forest around us was so peaceful so serene. "Where's Momo?" Aang asks. I sit up on Appa looking around. A screech is sounded from the forest. We all run after it. "Hang on Momo!" Aang yelled. I look up to see him and two weird ape monkey things in traps. He jumps from tree to tree using airbending to boost him up. He takes the clamp off of the gear and lowers Momo down. Katara and Sokka opened the cage and Momo jumped out. He instantly started to eat a single fruit. Sokka groans in frustration.
The weird animals started to ball. "All right you too." Aang was heading up the tree to go save the monkey things.
"Ugh, this is going to take forever," Sokka used his boomerang to cut down the traps.
"Okay, that works." Aang gets down from the tree and the monkey things run away.
"These are Fire Nation traps—you can tell from the metalwork. We'd better pack up camp, and get moving." Sokka moves away from the traps.
"Okay so I know ima sound real dumb, but what were those things," I say no one in particular.
"Those where hog monkeys. They can be found in captivity but the wild ones are fun. They don't like to be ridden but that is why its fun." Aang said. I laugh dryly at his childlike innocence. We all start to pack up Appa, me already being on him.
"Ah-ah...no flying this time," Sokka said holding his hand up to stop Katara from giving Aang a blanket.
"What?" Katara asks. I hate this. I don't wanna walk. Not only that but Jet shows up. Aang hands the roll to Sokka.
"Why wouldn't we fly?" Aang asked.
"Think about it. Somehow Prince Zuko and the Fire Nation keep finding us. It's because they spot Appa—he's just too noticeable." Sokka made a point but I still didn't want to walk.
"What! Appa's not too noticeable!" Katara defended Appa.
"He's a gigantic fluffy monster with an arrow on his head—it's kinda hard to miss him!" Appa turns his head to Sokka and growled.
"Sokka's just jealous 'cause he doesn't have an arrow." Aang soothed Appa. I laughed and pet Appa's side.
"I know you all want to fly, but my instincts tell me we should play it safe this time and walk," Sokka said mostly to Aang.
"Who made you the boss?" Katara asks Sokka.
"I'm not the boss—I'm the leader." Sokka shot back.
"You're the leader? But your voice still cracks!" Katara asks with disbelief.
"I'm the oldest and I'm a warrior," he tries to speak deeper "So...I'm the leader!
"Technically I am the oldest standing at 16 your 15 Sokka." He glairs at me.
"If anyone's the leader, it's Aang. I mean, he is the Avatar." I almost laugh out at that.
"Are you kidding—he's just a goofy kid!" Sokka was right.
"He's right." Aang was upside down hanging on to Appa's horns. Appa looked unimpressed. Sokka puts his pack on his back
"Why do boys always think someone has to be the leader? I bet you wouldn't be so bossy if you kissed a girl." Katara replies in a snarky way. I laugh.
