It was a peaceful day. Sokka was floating on a giant leaf with Momo on his chest. Aang and Katara were practicing their waterbending and I was practicing my firebending. I wasn't great by any means but I could make my way around a fight. "You guys are gonna be done soon, right?" I yelp in surprise and let my fire sizzle out. "We've got a lot of ground to cover if we wanna make it to Omashu today."
Katara drops her bending stance and looks at Sokka with a raised eyebrow, "What, like you're ready to go right now, naked guy?"
"I can be ready in two minutes. Seriously." He lifts up his head and looks at us with his wet hair covering his eyes, "Whenever." All three of us brush Sokka off and go back to our training, or rather Aang and Katara are. With the upcoming appearance of the hippie travelers, I didn't want to firebrand. I did, however, work on making a small ball of air.
Aang deflected an icicle with a tentacle of water. He spins around and deflects more icicles. Katara mercilessly launches the icicles at Aang without any break. Finally, when Aang can he sends out a tentacle and wraps it around Katara's leg, ending the fight. "You make a fine octopus, Pupil Aang" Aang fully wraps himself in water and lets himself look like a real octopus. Katara and I share a laugh.
From the woods, the sound of a pipa echoed. I perked up and turned around looking into the pine trees. "Don't fall in love with a traveling girl. She'll leave you broke and broken-hearted..." I smile and scrunch up my nose. They don't sound good at all but the memories make me happy. Sokka gets out of his leaf as he sees them. "Heh-hey! River people!"
"We're not river people," Katara tells him.
"You're not? Well, then what kind of people are ya?" Chong looks at us.
"Just... people," Aang told him.
"Aren't we all, brother? Whoo."
Sokka storms in from the middle of the pond. He points at Chong getting up in his face. "Who're you?"
"I'm Chong, and this is my wife Lily." He points to the woman behind him. He doesn't say the names of the other three with him, "We're nomads, happy to go wherever the wind takes us!" He strums his pipa like a rockstar would in a mock riff.
"You guys are nomads That's great! I'm a nomad." Aang exclaims.
"Hey, me too." Chong looks at Aang with wide eyes.
"I know... you just said that." Aang deadpans.
"Oh," Chong looks at Sokka, "Nice underwear." Sokka blushes and covers his underwear with Momo.

I was having one of the members of the group braid my hair. Katara was having Lily do hers's and Aang has a pink flower crown on his head. Chong lightly strums his pipa. "Hey, Sokka, you should hear some of these stories. These guys have been everywhere." Aang muses to Sokka.
"Well, not everywhere, Little Arrowhead. But where we haven't been we've heard about through stories and songs." I laugh at his light-hearted ways.
"They said they'll take us to see a giant nightcrawler." Aang puts on a giant smile.
"On the way, there's a waterfall that creates a never-ending rainbow," Moku says from his spot on the ground.
"Look, I hate to be the wet blanket here, but since Katara is busy I guess it's up to me." Katara looks at Sokka with a frown at this, "We need to get to Omashu. No sidetracks, no worms, and definitely no rainbows." Sokka puts up a finger for each distraction.
"Whoa... sounds like someone's got a case of "destination fever," heh. You're worried too much about where you're going." Chang said with a wistful voice.
