Ava
The once brown and tan city was black and red with smoke rising into the air. "I can't believe it. I know the war has spread far," Aang turns to look at us, "but Omashu always seemed...untouchable." I put a hand on his shoulder for comfort.
"Up until now, it was. Now Ba-Sing-Se is the only great Earth Kingdom stronghold left." Sokka tells us from behind with his arms crossed.
Katara moves to the other side of Aang, "This is horrible, but we have to move on."
"No. I'm going in to find Bumi." Aang moves away from us moving closer to the edge.
"Aang, stop. We don't even know if Bumi's still..." Sokka trailed off.
"What? If he's still what?" Aang turns around harshly and looks at Sokka. A wave of anger washed over me.
"...around." Sokka finished. I could tell that the words didn't sit well with any of us.
"He is alive. And Aang," I walk back up to him, "We will go get him. But we are doing it together." I smile at him. Katara agreed with me and while Sokka seemed to not really be all on board he agreed as well. "We can take the gliders. Leave Appa here. You take Katara, I'll take Sokka." I look back at the siblings to see if they agreed.
"Okay. Let's go save Bumi." Aang smiled and opened his glider.
----------
I almost drop Sokka on multiple occasions because he won't stop moving. I had gotten good at my gliding but I was in no way able-bodied to carry another person on my back while I glided. When we finally hit the ground Sokka was so quick to jump off I almost fell off the cliff. "Damn it Sokka! I'm taking Katara next time!" I spin my glider closed with style. It was almost like slamming a flip phone shut when wanting to end a conversation with sass.
"Well, maybe Aang would be a better glider!" Sokka sasses back.
"Not with the way you wiggle around!" I point a finger at him, "I've had piglets that were less squirmy then you!"
"Hey! Guys!" We look at Aang both still slightly agitated. He was standing on a sewer grate trying to pry it open. "Ava, can you help?" I jump up on the sewer and being to help Aang pry at it.
"A secret passage?" Sokka asks. "Why didn't we just use this last time?" Aang and I finally get the grate to pop off allowing the sewage to fly out all over Sokka. Momo jumps up onto Katara's shoulder to avoid the flow of waste.
"Does that answer your question?" Aang asks before we all begin to move into the pipe. Aang leads us and uses a ball of air to block the sewage from his. Katara is second and uses waterbending to keep the sewage out of her face. I was third and also used airbending to keep myself as clean as possible. Sokka was dead last and had no bending to keep him dry.
----------
Aang uses his airbending to open the sewer grate so we can leave. We all climb out in our respective order. "That wasn't as bad as I thought," Katara replies with a cheer. I smile at her and airbend my feet clean. I would need a shower to get the smell off. The ally way that we were in was completely empty, probably due to the curfew. Trash lined the streets and in the distance, you could smell smoke.
Sokka finally comes out of the sewer covered in muck. He moans and groans as he sticks his arms out. I hold back laughter as Katara sprays water in his face. Aang drys him with airbending. Sokka hunched over in a defeated sigh. Then, without warning, he beings to scream about the small octopus-like creatures on his face. He beings to pull on them without any luck screaming the entire time. Katara, Aang, and I share a look of fear for half a second. Aang tackles Sokka into the hay behind Sokka. "Stop making so much noise. It's just a purple pentapus." Aang rubs one's head and it curls its tentacles in delight.
