Ava

"This should give us a good idea of what's around here." Katara looks at a board with a bunch of writing. It had only just occurred to me but, I couldn't read.

Sokka turns a bag upside down and empties it into his mouth "See if you can find a menu, I'm starving."

"I bet we'll find something to eat here!" Aang points to a Fire Nation crest. "The Fire Days Festival. Fire Nation cultural exhibits...jugglers, benders, magicians. This'd be a great place for me to study some real firebenders!" Aang looks excited.

"You might wanna rethink that. Look at this." Sokka is on the other side of the board at this point looking at a bunch of wanted posters. Alongside Aang is Zuko in his Blue Spirit mask and a few other people.

"Hey, a poster of me!" Aang exclaims.

"A wanted poster. This is bad." Sokka points out. Aang takes the poster off of the board and looks at it. Katara comes beside him and reads it. I look down at the blue spirit poster. I quickly grab it and roll it up, shoving it into my pockets.

"You know, I really need to learn this language because all this looks like is scribbles," I say to them. Aang hands the poster to Katara.

"What does your writing look like?" He asks. I sigh and pull off my backpack. I move aside the books and pull out a writing assignment that I did for English. "This just looks like scribbles." He deadpans. A realization hits me.

"I can write whatever I want and no one can read it." My face lights up. He turns his attention back to the poster.

"I think we better keep moving," Katara spoke.

"I have to learn firebending at some point, and this could be my only chance to watch a master up close. And Ava could learn to fully master her firebending." He brings up.

"I guess we could check it out..." Katara says unsure of just how good of an idea this is.

"What!?!" Sokka stats outraged, "You want to walk into a Fire Nation town where they're all fired up with their, you know, fire?" I glair at him.

"Oh come on Sokka. We have the avatar, a waterbender, a warrior, and whatever I am. We deserve a night out." I smile at him.

"We'll wear disguises and if it looks like trouble, we'll leave." Katara and Aang start to walk back to Appa.

----------

"You guys stay out of sight here while we go to the festival," Aang tells Appa and Momo. It was dusk now and we were getting ready to go into the festival. I was wearing Fire Nation clothing already so I didn't need to change. We would need to find a way to cover Aang's tattoos but we had two cloaks for Sokka and Katara.

"Ready disguises!" Aang shouts enthusiastically. Sokka and Katara pull their hoods on the cloak dramatically. Aang bends over and pulls the back part of his shirt over his head. I snort.

"It's like your a whole different person," Sokka states sarcastically. Aang doesn't seem too affected by it.

"Aang honey I don't think this is going to work," I say softly.

"Let's go!" He shouts walking away and I laugh slightly pulling my backpack onto me.  Just as we start to walk down the hill I turn around and see a hooded man staring at us. He sees me and ducks back into the trees. I sharpen my eyes and start to walk again.

Sokka looks over to me. "Hey, why don't you have a disguise?" I don't look at him.

"She has the pale skin and dark hair like Fire Nation citizens. In fact, the only thing that makes it look like she isn't from the fire nation is her gray eyes." Katara points out. I blush and bat my eyes.
