Rayna's POV

I finished locking up the bookstore around 5:30pm and got in to my car. I sat there for a moment and checked my twitter. There wasn't much happening with the celebrities I followed, so I turned my phone off and started the engine. I drove to my house and listened to Ariana Grande on the way.

I opened my front door and walked to the lounge, turning the television on for background noise. I opened my laptop up and started searching around on the internet. Recently, I've been pretty unhappy with where I am in my life. Everything I do is on a loop- go to a bookstore, eat a salad, go back to the bookstore, go home, sleep, and repeat. My encounter with Brendon and his ex-bandmates made me realise how good I am at sorting through stuff professionally. He jokingly suggested I should be a manager, but I think it may be a good idea, actually. I searched for any management courses or apprenticeships online, all of which I either didn't have enough experience, or were in another state. I sighed and eventually gave up and texted Brendon.

Rayna: Hey, you know how I helped you with the band splitting up?

Brendon: Yeah?

Rayna: Well. It made me realise that I'm very extremely unhappy with where I am in life, and I want to do something like help people sort shit out professionally. Like, basically be a manager or some shit.

Brendon: Really? Wow, that's great, Ray.

Rayna: Yeah. But I can't find anywhere nearby to start out, and I don't want to have to move away.

Brendon: I can talk to my team for you. X

Rayna: You're too kind. Thank you, B. Xx

I locked my phone and leaned back on the couch, smiling to myself. I would be stoked if I could somehow get a job in some type of label. I continued to scour the internet for apprenticeships in the meantime, and came across one in Oregon. It was only a two hour drive from my house, and it ran for 5 days once a month, Monday to Friday. I could do the apprenticeship, and work out my job roster to fit it around the position. I looked further in to the position and eventually decided to apply for it. I could stay in a hostel or some type of cheap accomodation while being there, although that would end up being expensive other the course of 6 months. I'd figure it out somehow.

I turned off my laptop and texted Priya.

Rayna: I just applied for an apprenticeship in Oregon.

Priya: WhaT thE FUCK Rayna?? Are you moving?

Rayna: NOO no no. It runs for 5 days every month for 6 months.

Priya: You gave me a fat fright there. What's the apprenticeship for?

Rayna: Managing.

Priya: Oooh girl get it!

I smiled at her response and then wandered over to the kitchen to start making dinner. Halfway through, I heard a knock on the door. I walked over to answer and immediately smiled. "Hey Brendon! What a nice surprise." I said, inviting him inside. "Hey, sorry I didn't call first. I contacted my team and they said that they will hire you once you have more experience." He said, sitting down at my dining table. "Oh, that's perfect because I'm applying for a 6 month apprenticeship in Oregon." I said, smiling. But I dropped my smile as I watched his face twist from excitement to hurt. "What? You're moving?" He asked, his voice higher than usual. "No! I'm sorry, no. It runs for 5 days every month for 6 months. I'll just get a cheap hotel or something while I'm there." I explained for what felt like the millionth time that day, and watched as his expression change once again, this time from hurt to relieved. "Oh thank god. I would have been extremely upset." He said, scooting closer to me and wrapping an arm around me. I smiled and leaned in to his shoulder. "I don't want to leave California as of right now. I love it here." I stated, looking up and reassuring him that I wasn't leaving any time soon. He smiled, leant down, and kissed me passionately.

A/N: These chapters are very short but I promise there's a reason for it. As I have stated before: I have major plans for this story and there are big big plans in place for it, but it's too soon to start any of the plans. xdxd Lots of love,

Amber xox.
