"What's up with you?" I asked Rashid.
"Ako? Ano?" inosente niyang tanong. Napabuntong hininga ako.
"Why are you being kind all of a sudden?"
"Bakit iniisip mong walang pakialam si Nashton sayo?" pag-iignora niya sa tanong ko. Iritado akong napairap. Tsss. Di pako sagutin e.
"I asked a question first"dahilan ko dahil totoo naman iyon at isa pa, hindi ko alam ang isasagot ko sa tanong niya.
"I honestly worried more about Nashton. I don't want you to leave my friend over a misunderstanding"
Napailing ako at tumingin sa baba. "I don't think your friend will be hurt even If I leave,"
"It's just... All about his position in the family." dagdag ko pa.
Kita ko sa gilid ng aking mata ang pagbaling niya sa akin. "Position? Mind explaining?"
"Oo. Sasabihin ko sayo tapos kapag nakita mo si Nashton, sasabihin mo naman sa kanya," sabi ko ng nakangiwi. Ito pa, daldal din nito sa ilang linggo kong pagstay rito, kahit papaano kilala ko na ugali nila. Mga ugaling ulupong.
Iritado siyang umiling. "Listen here, We men are not like you, women," pinaharap niya ako sa kanya sabay hawak sa magkabilang balikat ko at mariing sinabi iyon.
"We don't go around and try to solve problems that we shouldn't,"
Agad akong kumawala sa kanya at mabilis na dinistansya ang aking sarili. I hissed.
"Ano na?" bored nitong tanong. I let out a deep breathe.
"Nashton needed a woman to keep his position as the Boss in his Family. He got one... And that's all," nahihirapan at mahina kong sabi.
"What?!—you must be crazy. Naston can get any woman he'd like. You probably don't know but before you came, he never came here even on off days. He would be out with different women, if he wanted. Kahit isang palakpak lang ng kanyang kamay, nandiyan na silang lahat. Nakapila para sa kanya,"
Napaiwas ako ng tingin. I hate the way I really understand what he's trying to say.
"But still, he chose you." he added.
Tumikhim ako at lumunok. "Alright, let's not talk about this anymore,"
I heard him sighed.
"Hindi mo ba sasabihin sa iba na nandito na si Joshral?" pag-iiba ko ng topic.
Umiling siya sa akin. "Vaughnn and Blaise will be here soon. As for Nashton, I'll plan to tell him in a couple of days,"
"Bakit hindi pa ngayon?" kita ko ang biglang pagngisi niya.
"He'll cancel all of his meetings and turned his plane around," napamaang ako.
"Just to meet Joshral?" I saw him nodded.
"Their friendship is more deeper than a brotherhood." napatango ako. Nagpapasalamat akong kahit papaano ay wala siyang naaalala ngayon, pero hindi parin dapat ako makampante. Pwedeng-pwedeng bumalik lahat ng ala-ala niya. Pwedeng ngayon, mamaya, bukas o sa susunod man. Napahinga ako ng malalim, things just kept on getting complicated.
