"I'll see you tomorrow," I said hugging Matt goodbye. My step-mom, Miranda, woke us up telling Matt he couldn't spend the night tonight.

"Bye," he said then closed the door behind him.

"I still don't get why you guys don't date," Miranda said as she scrolled through the TV guide.

"You know why, it would just be weird," I said. "Ooh, put on Kim and Kourtney."

"Mommy!" Ellie exclaimed as she ran into the room. Ellie is my half-sister, she's four and the cutest little girl ever, well besides me.

My parents got divorced when I was about to go into the sixth grade. My mom cheated, I like living with my dad better, but I still love my mom, so I spend some weekends at her house, with her new husband, Daniel. They have two kids, Jenna and Collin, who are three and one. My sister, Clarissa is a senior this year and she lives with me and my dad, plus the other two, most of the time. It all depends on what type of mood she's in. I'll never forget the day when my parents asked me who I wanted to live with. When they first decided to get a divorce, my mom was going to back and live in Florida, where she's from. Thankfully, she decided to stay here in Huntington Beach.

"So I figured since I made tonight a no Matt zone, I thought we could go shopping. We can get you your homecoming dress," Miranda suggested and I nodded.

Homecoming was in three weeks and I still haven't decided on what to wear. It's on a cruise ship, so I think I'll go with blue. It has to be amazing though, every year I've been on homecoming court. I've won princess two years in a row, now I'm aiming for three. Hopefully next year I'll be homecoming queen. I'm super excited for prom though, it's my first prom where I can run for court. I've been to every prom, only because I was asked by an upperclassman. But, all of those didn't pan out. Most of the time I was only asked because all the other junior and senior girls were taken. I'm a junior in high school and I've never been asked out!

At our school, we don't have one big prom for juniors and seniors, we have two separate ones. My freshman year, I went to junior prom. Sophomore year I went to senior prom, which was really fun. I had pepper spray in my bag just in case though. Courtesy of my dad FYI. Thankfully Matt went to both of them too, so if anyone tried anything, I'd have him to protect me. Also courtesy of my dad, he paid for Matt and his girlfriends' tickets.

We got to the shopping center and of course, our first stop was shoes. Those are my favorite.

"OMG! Look at these!" I exclaimed.

"Those are seriously cute!" Miranda exclaimed.

Yeah, my step-mom's pretty cool, she not one of those mean ones like in Cinderella, but she's not like the one who's always trying to be my friend. She's my friend and my mom. She is ten years younger than my dad and ten years older than me.

"So if I ask you a serious question, will you answer it truthfully?" She asked me.

"Yeah sure," I said shrugging as I searched through the boxes for my size.

"Well I guess its two questions. Okay, have you had sex with Matt before?" Miranda questioned.

My eyes widened. Did she really just ask that? "No, we've never even kissed."

"Okay, have you ever had sex?" She asked.

"No," I said shaking my head. I was not a slut.

"Good," she said sighing making me laugh.

.

.

"There you are! I seriously thought you were ditching!" Alex exclaimed as I walked towards my locker, which was right next to hers.

"Sorry, Matt never showed to pick me up, I took my car instead," I said. "Guess he's sick or something."

"He's not sick. He showed up with Rachel this morning, she was driving. Sarah, Rachel's best friend said they had sex last night, not surprised, Matt sure does love his cheerleaders," Alex said with a chuckle at the end. "Anyways, he broke up with her when she started telling people how big he is."

"Oh."

"Hey what's up?" Matt asked behind me.

"Oh I think we all know what's up," I said looking down at him.

"You okay? You're a little bit more bitchy than normal," he said raising his eyebrows.

"Yup, perfect. Well except for the fact that my best friend goes around sleeping with girls and breaks up with them the next day! The longest relationship you've had was with Jocelyn and that was two weeks! You broke up with her literally right after you banged her," I said irritated.

"Woah, is someone on their monthly?" Matt asked.

"OMG! Why is it every time a girl says something, which is true by the way, a guy freaks out and thinks we're on our period?" I asked getting even more annoyed.

"Maybe because you guys always overreact when you're on your period!" Matt snapped.

"I just don't get why you have to do this to all of these girls!" I spat back.

"Just stay out of it, Lauren!" He yelled.

"Why because I know right from wrong?" I asked.

"Because you're fucking annoying!" He yelled even louder.

It took me by surprise, he's never yelled at me like that before. He's never yelled at me before actually.

I grabbed my bag from the floor and walked out the school doors and drove myself home, then collapsed onto my bed and cried and cried and cried and ate food. Have I mentioned I love cookie dough and cake/brownie batter?

.

.

"Are you okay Lauren?" Clarissa asked knocking on my door.

"Yeah," I said then invited her in.

"What happened between you and Matt? Evan told me in bio," she informed me.

"We had a fight, it's not a big deal," I said shrugging.

"You do know its Wednesday and it's like four in the afternoon right?" She asked.

"Yes, I'm not a dumbass," I said rolling my eyes.

"Well just tell me what's wrong, I know it's about him and his relationships."

I thought for a minute, okay maybe I was a little jealous of them. He always showed them so much more attention than he has to me in the last several years. I was jealous of Matt's girlfriends. Which only means one thing, I'm in love with Matthew Copeland.

"You're jealous aren't you," she said softly.

"Maybe."

"You like him, huh?" She asked.

"It's worse," I said groaning, throwing my face into my pillow.

"You're in love with Matthew Copeland."
