And cue the music. It was like the slow mode part of LOL when Miley Cyrus walks in with her friends. I walked into school with Matt and all eyes were on us. It's how the cool kids walk in. Wait, why are they staring? Do they know we're a thing?
"They are so the new it couple," one girl whispered as we passed by.
"God, she's so hot."
"I'm so jealous of her. She gets Matt Copeland all to herself."
"What a douche." Hmm, that must be one of Matt's exes.
Matt and I separated to go to our lockers. After getting my sociology book, I shut the locker only to find Matt standing there.
"Skip class with me," he said.
"No!" I shrieked. I've never skipped class, ever.
"Why not? We have a substitute anyways," he said.
"What if my parents find out? You know how my dad is," I explained.
"Please, its one class, and we'll go into the office together and say we were late," he responded.
"Where would we even go?" I questioned.
"My car," he shrugged.
"Fine. Just this time okay?" I said and followed him back outside.
.
.
Pulling away from our kiss, he looked at me confused.
"What's wrong?"
"What are we?" I asked laying my head on his shoulder.
"Humans," he joked and I playfully hit him.
"No, seriously," I said.
"Well I think we're dating. You?" He replied.
"Same here," I said smiling.
"Good, so can we go back to making out? We have three minutes left until we have to go back," he said.
.
.
"And why are you late?" The secretary asked.
"I uh had some car trouble so Matt came and picked me up and then his car needed gas so we had to get gas and then uh," I explained but she cut me off.
"Here," she said handing us two tardy slips.
"Geez, she woke up on the wrong side of the bed," Matt scoffed.
"She so knew we were lying," I replied laughing.
"I'll see you in Spanish okay?" He questioned and I nodded and connected our lips just as the bell rang.
Just as I was about to step into my Spanish class, I bumped into no one other than Scott.
"Hey," I said. He seemed different than normal. Kind of like he didn't want to be seen. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," he replied looking at the ground.
"Oh my gosh, just tell me!"
"No."
"It can't be that bad, what are you like in love with someone?" OMG! He is! "Who is it?"
"Alex!" He blurted then quickly walked away.
Oh. My. God.
Scott really does like Alex.
.
.
"I just can't believe its October 1st!" I exclaimed to Matt.
"Hey," Scott said walking up towards us.
"Hi," I said awkwardly. It's been so weird talking to Scott since I know he loves Alex.
"Are we still doing that thing during lunch?" He questioned Matt.
"Yeah," he responded with a nod.
"What are you guys doing?" I asked curiously.
"We're uh gonna pull a prank on one of the freshman on the football team," Matt said.
"Oh, okay," I said. I knew he was lying, he always stalls when he talks. But, I really didn't care I just wanted to leave the conversation. Stay away from Scott as much as possible. If I'm not near him, I won't be persuaded to ask him questions about the whole Alex thing.
.
.
"I'll see you later guys, I have to go to class a little bit earlier," I informed my friends as I stood up from our lunch table.
I walked outside to tell Alex I was leaving, she was eating with Aiden. That's when I saw something really weird. There was a huge black box in the middle of the hallway with my name painted on it. Walking closer, I jumped when Matt popped out of the box with a sign that read 'Will you go to homecoming with me?' Of course I said yes!
"Oh my god, we definitely have to get our dresses now!" Alex exclaimed as we climbed the stairs to go to our fourth hour.
"You want to come over? Clarissa, Miranda, and I were already going shopping, I'm sure they won't care if you come too."
"Yeah cool," she replied.
.
.
"Okay, what about this one?" Alex asked stepping out of the dressing room with a strapless, mint colored dress with an embellished bodice.
"OMG! You have to get this!" I exclaimed.
"You look amazing!" Miranda added.
"Seriously!" Clarissa yelled.
"This is so pretty!" Alex gushed.
"Have you found anything Lauren?" Miranda asked me.
"No, nothing has caught my eye, like literally nothing," I said annoyed. It was less than two weeks until homecoming and I still didn't have a dress! What could go wrong?
.
.
"Have I ever mentioned I love Starbucks?" I asked Alex laughing.
"You're such a white girl," she said rolling her eyes.
"Oh like you have room to talk," I replied.
"What are you hiding?" She asked me while her eyebrows raised.
How do people know these things?!?!
"What are you talking about?"
"You're biting your lips, it means you know something. Tell me, tell me, tell me!" She exclaimed like a kid half her age would do.
"Someone kinda likes you, and by likes you I mean loves you," I said.
"Come on! You can't leave me hanging, who?" She questioned eagerly.
"Scott."
Alex didn't respond, she just stood there and sipped on her drink. Is she is shock? Does she not care? Oh great...does she hate me for telling her? Or is she in love with him too?
I think too much.
