"Thanks for picking me up, my dad took my car to get serviced," Alex said slipping into Matt's car.
"No problem. Just one more stop before school," Matt said driving down the street.
"Where?" She asked curiously.
"I have to pick up Scott, he got his car taken away last night. I guess he missed curfew or something," Matt explained to her.
"Lauren, can I borrow your earphones?" Alex asked me desperately.
"Why?" I asked confused.
"So I don't have to talk to him, it'd be so awkward!" She exclaimed.
"Fine, here," I said tossing her the earphones. "You're welcome."
Scott stepped into Matt's car and said hello to everyone and got a response from Matt and I, but Alex ignored him. "What's up with her?" I shrugged. "Alex, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, I'm cool," she answered quickly.
"Are you sure?" He questioned.
"Yup," she replied bluntly.
Alex was right, this was awkward.
When Matt pulled into the parking spot, Alex nearly leaped out of the car so she could get away from Scott and the awkwardness. Matt hadn't even put the car in park yet. I started to make my way to my first class, but Scott stopped me.
"Did you tell her?" He questioned.
"Maybe," I muttered.
"What did she say?"
"Nothing," I said sighing.
"Oh."
"Yeah, so I have to go. Look, I'm sure she'll talk to you sooner or later," I assured him.

Ugh, I really hate this teacher, Mr. Gaines. He's my sociology teacher who moved here this year and came out of retirement. He should've stayed in retirement. All he talks about is golf.
"What's today?" I asked Matt who sat beside me. Okay, I guess Mr. Gaines wasn't that bad, since he let us sit wherever we want, but he's seriously the most boring person in the world!
"The second," Matt responded.
"Thank you," I said with a smile.
Today we had finals in this class since the quarter ended on Friday.
Okay, here we go, number one. The term "social statics" was used by who? Oh I know this one. Herbert Spencer. Easy peasy.
Sociology actually wasn't that hard, you just needed to remember things and have common sense.
"Okay everyone pass up your tests," Mr. Gaines said.
"How do you think you did?" Matt questioned me.
"I have no idea," I answered honestly. "You?"
"At least a C."
I would legitimately scream if I got anything lower than an A, no joke.
"I'll see you next hour okay?" He asked pulling me close to him.
"Okay," I said pecking him on the lips.
My next class was physics and it was on the 2nd floor. This class was probably one of my favorites. Mr. Nelson was one of the best teachers at this school. He really connected with the students. Plus, he wasn't your normal on a budget teacher, due to the fact he came from a high end family. He had like four cars, one was a Ferrari.
Thankfully our final in this class is tomorrow. Our school likes to make sure we have a balanced finals experience.
"Hey Lauren," Mr. Nelson said acknowledging my presence.
"What's up?" I asked him.
"Science club meeting today during lunch," he informed me.
"Kay," I said then went over to my seat. Front row on the right side of the room, near the fishies. Yes, I still call them that. Horses are also horsies, and the barns they live in are horsie houses.
Mr. Nelson was my biology teacher in ninth grade, so I know him pretty well. He's good friends with my parents too, not to mention lives four houses down from my dad's.
"Lauren!" My friend Dean exclaimed.
"Hi," I replied smiling.
"Hey girl," Alex said sitting down next to me.
"Hey, how are things with Scott?" I questioned her and she groaned.

The rest of the day went by pretty smoothly, I was in my last hour and I was super excited to get out of school. Finals always make me feel tired.
Ding! The bell went off and I bolted out the door and walked towards Matt's car. Matt was called into the office to take football pictures so I didn't bother to wait for him by the office, they normally take like five minutes.
"Hey," Matt said behind me, nearly making me scream from fright.
"Gosh, you scared me," I said laughing.
"So I have a question," he said pulling me close to him.
"Oh, you do?"
"Lauren Olivia Michaels will you go on a date with me and officially be my girlfriend?" He questioned and I smiled.
"Yes I will, Matthew Austin Copeland," I replied and he connected our lips.
