I was not in a good mood. I've been up for exactly 28 hours. I need sleep! Or coffee...ooh, Starbucks.
Amber was the last to leave except for Alex, I was going over to her house to hang out.
Alex's family was the only normal one. No divorces. Sometimes I wish it was like that but, I would never have ended up with another family which I love just as much.
"Hey Lauren, haven't seen you in a while," Landon, Alex's dad said as we passed the kitchen. He was making some sort of tomato sauce, we're probably eating spaghetti for dinner.
Lila, Alex's mom was in the living room reading something on her iPad when we past her and she smiled up at me and said hello.
Alex's room was at the end of the hallway that was on the right. Her dad got a huge promotion about two years ago and they bought a new house. The first room we passed was Kaitlyn's, Alex's 18 year old sister. She's the volleyball star at Ocean View, she'll be attending Penn St. in the fall on a full scholarship to play volleyball. The room in the middle between Kaitlyn and Alex was Jasmine. Jasmine's 14 and she's a cheerleader. Not your cheerleader for football, she's full on competition, All-Star, cheerleader. Then there's Alex, she plays year round soccer and dreams of going to UCLA to play soccer. Alex also plays guitar but only in her free time. She's pretty good at it, too. Sometimes she sings but it's very rare.
Her room was a decent size, not too small, but not as big as mine. All of her furniture what white, like mine. And her walls were painted blue, not like mine. Her name (Alexandria not Alex) was painted in cursive with black paint. Alex and I were talking about school and stuff when Jasmine walked in and interrupted us. "Can you cover for me tonight?" Yeah forgot to mention she's a total bitch, but yet all the guys are in love with her. She dated a senior in high school her 8th grade year. That just shows you the type of person she is.
"For what? Where are you going? Please tell me it's not the party at Brad's house," Alex said annoyed.
"So what if I go? It's not like I'm going to do something bad," she said rolling her eyes.
"Need I remind you, the last time you went to a party, you got drunk and high and slept with someone?" Alex exclaimed.
"Why are you guys yelling?" Kaitlyn asked as she walked in.
"Jas wants to go to Brad's party," Alex informed her.
"What?" Kaitlyn screeched. "Even I'm not going to that. His parties are too crazy Jas." Kaitlyn did go to a lot of parties and normally got drunk but she was right, Brad Cooper's parties had drugs and alcohol everywhere. Not to mention the amount of condoms on the floor. I went to one my freshman year, thank god I had Matt to protect me. I almost got raped on the dance floor.
"Fine then, be a bunch of haters!" Jasmine yelled.
.
.
"Thanks for letting me stay for dinner," I said as Kaitlyn passed my plate of spaghetti.
"Not a problem Lauren, we wish you'd come by as often as Oliver does," Lila said making Kaitlyn glare at her. Oliver's her boyfriend in case you didn't catch on.
"So Lauren, I heard you and Matt are now a thing," Kaitlyn said.
"Oh really? I always knew you two would get married one day. Landon, honey, remember all those years of Halloween and birthday parties with all four of them? Alex, Lauren, Matt and Scott? I still don't get why you and Scott didn't get together. You two used to always have so much fun together!" Lila said clutching her heart.
The rest of the dinner went by okay I guess. Jasmine glared at Kaitlyn and Alex the entire time.
Maybe her family isn't normal.
