This was it, homecoming 2013. My friends and I walked down the boat ramp and I'm not going to lie and say I didn't almost fall a few times due to the cracks and holes in the wood.
I had been looking forward to this moment since the beginning of October when we decided all of the details. At the beginning of the year, I wasn't student body president, just vice president. But then, our president moved so I was pushed to the president position and I still maintain the vice president position. It's been a hectic year. Being the Lieutenant Governor of the California/Nevada/Hawaii Division in Key Club, also the club Secretary/Treasurer, things could get very chaotic. I used to dance and play volleyball until this year, and I really miss it. I'm probably going to start again next year and if things get too stressful, I'll have to drop out.
Ohhh, sometimes I get a good feelin, yeah. I getta feelin. The music was already blaring from inside the boat. Ha, the hotel guests are probably very mad right now.
Matt and I walked into the dance, he was escorting me like any boyfriend would do. I mean come on, you always show off your dates at dances. Sadly though, Aiden and Alex just walked in and I could see Scott boiling up with anger when he saw how unhappy Alex was.
It was that cliché moment like in the movie LOL when they're walking in super slow like how the cool kids do it. It was completely like that. All the eyes on you because you're fabulous and they're jealous of you.
All of us immediately started dancing, Alex danced with Matt and I while Aiden went off somewhere in the boat. Probably to get drunk or high. Eventually, Scott came over towards us and started dancing with us. It was like old times.
My feet started hurting so Matt and I decided to go talk to some of our classmates to pass some time and to get the pain to go away.
We saw Greyson and Janie sitting at a table and decided to go talk to them.
"So who did you guys vote for?" I asked referring to the ballot, which had my name on it and Matt's.
"Being honest, I voted for Marissa because she's not really selfish and isn't a gloater," Greyson replied.
My mouth shot open. "Excuse me? I am not selfish! I don't even gloat! Do I brag about my grades? Do I brag about my clothes? Nope!"
"I kinda voted for Marissa too cause she's never rude to me."
Bitch. "Oh, you want to play that game Janie? Don't forget what you did to me in freshman year. Then lied and said you were the nicest person in the whole world. Bullshit. Think again about your opinions."
That shut her up.
"Well that was eventful," Matt said grabbing my hand.
"She's such a liar! Am I really selfish?"
"You can be at sometimes but they had no right to call you those things," he answered honestly.
Okay I guess he was right, I could be selfish. But I never crossed the line about bragging. I knew I was fortunate and I didn't need to run it in other people's faces.
The things they said to me didn't exactly boost my confidence about winning princess. If two people didn't vote, then more than two people didn't vote. I was about to hyperventilate and I started to have a panic attack. One of the many things wrong with me. But Matt was used to them and he pulled me close and calmed me down before anyone noticed.
When I was in 7th grade I was diagnosed with ADHD. In 3rd grade I was known for having things to have to be perfect, and by have, I mean I would throw a tantrum if they weren't. So that's when I was diagnosed with minor OCD. Then in 9th grade, I didn't have a very good year, a lot of people started rumors about me and I would start to have panic attacks. So yeah, I kind of have some issues.
"Can we have all of our nominees come up to the front?" Our principle questioned the audience and we all cheered. "Okay I'm going to now announce your new prince and princess."
Breathe. Lauren, breathe.
"Go Lauren!" I heard Heather scream and it put a smile on my face.
"Matthew Copeland and Lauren Michaels!"
Oh my god!
I walked forward to receive my crown with a huge smile plastered on my face. I did it. I finally won princess.
"And now for your king and queen...Evan Torres and Clarissa Michaels!"
She won. My sister won homecoming Queen. She's dreamed of this since she was five. I've dreamed of it since she started wearing tiaras and I thought they were the "most prettiest thing in the entire world."
We took a few pictures and continued to the dance floor to do our spotlight dance.
"Congrats," Matt said while his hands roamed my back.
"Congrats back to you," I replied pulling him closer to me.
Things were different than they were less than three months ago. I didn't get to pull him close to me without wanting to kiss him as hard as ever. I wasn't the most popular girl in school. I wasn't princess. And I didn't have a prince.

We were in the parking lot by the hotel, the boat was no longer around. So we decided to just hang out by the limos and Scott's car.
All of the couples were making out except for Aiden and Alex who were still in their fight and Scott of course. He just stood there awkwardly. I felt bad for all three of them.
Alex eventually came up to me and asked if we could leave and I agreed. I was getting tired of making out. My lips were chapped and swollen and I was almost positive I had a hickey right now.
"Clarissa we're leaving," I said interrupting her and Evan as they said goodbye. Tonight was Charlie, a senior's, eighteenth birthday so the guys were taking him to a strip club. Most of them were 18, the rest just had fake ID's. Clarissa was perfectly fine with it. Her opinion was "hey at least he's telling me he's going there."
The senior guys went into one limo and the rest of us girls went into the limo to go my dad's. Scott, Matt, Aiden, Dallas, and Andrew were in Scott's car.

Now it was time for the sleepover. We were all makeup-free and our hair was either down, in a ponytail, or in a really sloppy bun. Mine was the latter.
Lindsey is a senior and my sister's best friend. She has platinum blonde hair and hazel eyes. She always reminded me of Barbie. Her hobbies include: Seventeen Magazine, skiing, and boys. She's going to NYU to be a fashion editor. Her dreams are to work for Vogue.
Brooke is also a senior and is a really amazing person. Her hair color can range from brown, dirty blonde, and blonde. It's normally brown in the winter and fall. Dirty blonde is for spring and blonde is for summer. I personally like her with brown hair. She wants to be Miss World and she's almost there. She's Miss Teen California right now.
Adrianna is another senior and she's hilarious! She does the weather for the news at school. Her dark hair compliments her skin tone. I just know she's going to be a newscaster.
Phoebe is a senior and she can sometimes be bitchy but only on the outside. When it's just her and her friends she's super nice. Her mom is a super model and she obviously gets her looks from her. She has jet black hair and it has some red and blonde natural highlights in it from her dad. She's 5'10" and is just overall jaw-dropping.
Kennedy is my absolute favorite of Clarissa's friends. She's a ginger and just the sweetest person on earth. She's shy at first but once you know her she's completely open. Literally, completely open! If she thinks your hair looks ugly she will flat out tell you. I like her because of that characteristic.
We stayed up all night, well I guess morning since we didn't get back until 12:30. Ate a lot of food and watched a lot of chick flicks. Magic Mike was obviously our favorite. Hey the guys went to a strip club, we deserve a little Channing Tatum.
