Chapter 51 - Hey What's Up

God Matt, can your arm weigh anymore? Jeez! It was around one in the morning and I couldn't sleep. Matt fell asleep with his arm around me while we were watching TV. I was tired just five minutes ago, what happened?!

My phone vibrated from my bedside table and scared me half to death. Alex was calling me.

"Hey what's up?" I asked answering the call.

"Lauren," Scott said. He was crying. "Can you come to the hospital?"

"Yes. Matt wake up!" I hissed. "What happened? Oh my god."

"I don't know, I was staying over at Alex's because her parents are out of town and she started having really bad cramps on her side so we're driving the emergency room right now. She really wants you."

"I'm literally walking to the car right now. Matt and I will be there in a few minutes."

Oh my god. Oh my god. I was gasping for air and I started to hyperventilate. Lauren, control your breaths. The last thing you need right now is your heart to fail.

"Are you okay?" I asked walking into her hospital room.

"The doctors took some tests." Scott replied.

"Excuse me, Miss Stevens, Mr. Murdoch? I have some news. I'm sorry to inform you that you've had a miscarriage. I'm very sorry."

It's the whole world stopped and all I heard was a high-pitched noise. Alex sobbed into Scott's chest as he softly cried, which ended up becoming a sob too. I even saw Matt crying. I stood there and I could feel my heart slowly slowing down. My breaths shortened and I remember just fainting but Matt caught me and yelled for a nurse or a doctor.

"So there's something we need to talk about. Look I didn't tell you before because I didn't really think I needed too. I have a heart disease. That's why I passed out. I'm taking pills. It's not too serious but I might eventually have to have surgery."

"But you're going to be okay right?"

"Yeah, I promise."

"Forever?"

"Forever."
