Chapter 29- Where are you?

Chrim's PoV

I run towards him and made his head lie on my lap.

"Kuya.. Kuya Melrein." Ang tanging mga salitang lumabas sa bibig ko. A pair of shoes showed in front of me. I looked up and even with blurry vision, I know it's him.

"Aww. You also fell, Mae? I thought you're not a rule breaker. You are a good follower, right? Oh, but what is this? You just broke a rule. How disappointing, you just broke... your own rule." He sarcastically said and laugh afterwards.

"YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" I was about to stand and slap him but someone else said those words and punched him.

"Oh, Christian. My best friend--oops, ex best friend. It's been a long time. I heard your child survived the cancer? Congrats. How funny, you're living with praises and happiness around you while your best friend's living in darkness!" Mababakas ang galit sa boses nito.

"Chrimmy." Hindi ko na sila binigyang pansin nang marinig ko ang boses ni Kuya Melrein.

"K-kuya.."

"Get o-out of here. It's dangerous." Sabi nito at napangiwi. It must've hurt so much. Nang dumating ang ambulance ay sumama ako sa hospital. I can't leave him like this. I should be with him.

"Chris. You should've stayed there." Sabi ni Kuya Christian nang magkita kami sa ospital.

"No, Kuya. I need to be with him. He needs me." I said as I look at the emergency room.

"What're your plans about the competition?" Kuya Christian asked.

"I'm not planning anything. Hindi na natin itutuloy iyon." Seryosong saad ko. I heard him sighed.

"What exactly do you feel towards that guy?" He asked. I look at him. I know he knows the answer to that question.

"Oh God, Chris. Bakit ngayon pa?" He asked at napahilamos na lang.

"Hindi ko napigilan, kuya." Sabi ko na lang.

"Pero alam mo na posibleng mangyari ito diba? Nagsisisi ka ba?" Agad akong umiling sa tanong niya.

"Wala akong pinagsisisihang kahit ano, kuya. Wala." I sincerely said.

"Paano ka? Baka ikaw ang sunod na target-in ni--," I cut him off.

"He would never do that. He just wants to ruin my life, not to take it." I said. How I wish he would just take my life rather than ruin it.

"He was hurt." He said. I know, I know that.

"And you were." Hindi pa rin ako umimik. My brother knows me more than anyone else does.

"Let's not talk about the past, Kuya."

"That's what he's doing. He'll bring back the past. He'll make you remember what you did. He'll make you miserable by using the past and ruining your present." Napaluha ako sa sinabi ni Kuya. Tama siya. Hindi matatakbuhan ang ginawa ko noon. I ruined his trust. I ruined his life. Now, he's the one ruining mine.

"Kuya.. Masama bang tuparin ang sarili kong pangarap?" I asked.

"It's not. It's just that, habang tinutupad mo ang pangarap mo, nasira yung sa iba." Lalo akong napaiyak sa sinabi niya. I didn't just ruined a dream, but a life.

"Nga pala, si Louie. Haven't you heard he's missing?" He asked na ikinagulat ko.

"W-what? Kailan pa?" Gulat na tanong ko.

"I'm not sure. He's nowhere to be found. Mukhang lumabas siya ng Academy."

"Paano nangyari 'yon? Mahigpit ang security ng Academy--," He cut me off.

"But there's someone who can pass them. Do you think Louie knows some way out? Hindi ba't alam mo na kasabwat siya ng pumapatay sa loob? Do you think he's the one who lets him in the Academy?" Nagulat ako sa mga tanong ni Kuya Christian. Paano naman malalaman ni Louie kung may secret way man doon?

"Guardians of Mr. Gellang?" I looked at the doctor.

"Doc, how is he?" I asked.

"He's fine. Hihintayin na lang natin siyang magising. Regarding Ms. Crystel, she's not seriously shot. Sa braso lang siya tinamaan, she's fine." Sabi ng doctor.

"Wait.. Do you think Melrein's the main target?" Kuya Christian asked.

"W-what?" I asked.

"He just used Crystel para ilayo sa'yo si Melrein dahil alam niyang hindi hahayaan ni Melrein na lumapit ka doon and as he got the chance, he shoots Melrein." Then Kuya Melrein's not his target. It was me. He wants to see me in pain... through Kuya Melrein. Damn him!

I need to see Kuya Louie. Where are you, Kuya Louie?
