"i'm in love with you, kim yugyeom."

to say kim yugyeom was surprised was an understatement. his heart was racing and he felt choked up. yugyeom wasn't quite sure what to do either, should he kiss him? no, it was the wrong time, wasn't it? what should he say?

he could tell bambam was getting nervous because the boy was squirming around and excessively running his hands through his hair. he always did that when he was nervous.

he was about to open his mouth until the doctor came in with a smile, and right now yugyeom just wanted to punch him.

"bambam, it's time for you to go now. your mother is here to pick you up and i need to check on yugyeom again before he can leave." he said, holding the door open for the small boy.

"but-" bambam started, looking over to yugyeom.

"but we're not finished talking!" yugyeom complained, looking at the doctor with pleading eyes. the doctor gave an apologetic smile and shook his head.

"sorry," he said. yugyeom watched as bambam got up quietly and started walking out, his expression unreadable.

"bambam," yugyeom said before the boy could leave. bambam turned his head, his cheeks pink. "i- um.. see you around.." he mumbled.

"oh." was all bambam sighed out, looking down at the ground as he walked away. bambam seemed hurt, yugyeom could tell that.

--

kim yugyeom's mother came to pick him up at the hospital once the doctors said it was okay for him to leave.

he practically sprinted into the car, buckling his seat belt and waiting for his mom to get ready. it felt like decades as his mother stepped in, buckled her belt, started the car, and pulled out.

"what are you in such a hurry for?" his mom said exasperatedly, shaking her head.

"i have to see bambam as soon as possible!" yugyeom said, gripping onto the sides of the seat. his mother sighed and nodded her head.

"tomorrow you can. tonight, you just need to rest, okay?"

"but mom-"

"no buts! you listen to me!" she said sternly, continuing to drive to their house. yugyeom let out a 'hmph,' and crossed his arms like a toddler, leaning back in his chair with an angry look on his face.

they reached home soon after and yugyeom went up to his room, deciding against texting bambam. he just wasn't sure what to say, but he knew it had to be in person.

after dinner, yugyeom planned to head over to bambam's house and do something. he wasn't quite sure what yet, but it would be great. it had to be.

--

it was like kunpimook bhuwakul couldn't feel anything but his heart being physically crushed to pieces at the moment. he didn't know what was going to happen, if yugyeom would leave him, kiss him, or just tell him that they could stay friends.

yugyeom hadn't texted him at all since he left the hospital and bambam didn't know what to do.

should he just text him and tell him it was a joke? he was close to having a panic attack, he was shaking and could barely breathe. he was excessively sweating and he wanted to scream but nothing would come out.

a soft knock at the door pulled him out of his thoughts, his head turning to the door as his mother stepped in.

"hey honey, you seem kind of down." she said softly, walking over to his bed and sitting next to him. he sighed and shrugged his shoulders, playing with his blanket. "is everythint alright? do you wanna talk about it?"
