Chapter 36

Bailey's POV

Lexi and I sat in my truck in he schools parking lot, she wore my blazer to keep warm

"I'm really sorry bailey" she says

"Stop apologizing" I say taking her hand

"I am, really I don't deserve you with what I put you though" she says

"Nonsense" I say

"It was just everything was happening so fast and my moms" she says before I cut her off

"What about them?" I asked

"They went through our text messages and your contact name in my phone is B, and when they asked me about it, I said the first thing that came to my mind was Bruce since he lives a across the street from me" she says

"I tried my best to come with a lie and be over with it, but they kept bringing up how I have boyfriend, and everything I became stressed and then my car broke down and I needed to make the lie look real in case anything happened" she was rambling on

"Hey, calm down Lex" I say

"Were you mad at me?" I asked

"I was at first, but I mostly angry how he treated you" I say

"do you remember when I ask you if you ever thought about being with me?" She asked

"Yes" I hummed

"and you said you never really thought about it" she says

"I remember" I say

"I regret that answer everyday since" I say

"how do you feel about me now?" She asked

"I feel a lot things but right now i can only think about how I've miss you so much" I say

"how do you feel?" I asked

"I don't know, it's like I wanna kiss you but feel like you shouldn't accept me for what put you through" she says

I lift her chin up before softly kissing her lips "I'm not mad at you" I whispered

she was looking in my eyes as I was to her she open her mouth to say something when she stopped

she looked down "can you please take me home?" she asked

"yeah" I say starting my truck up, we both buckle our seatbelts before I drove out the parking lot

We sat in my truck even though were parked right outside her house

it was silent, "thank you" was the first words she said

"no problem" I say

"oh here!" she says taking off my blazer

"no, keep it" I say

she giggled

She opened the door to get out when she stopped and looked at me "bailey?" She says

"Yeah?" I say

She leans over and kisses me "goodnight" she smiles

"Night" I say as she gets out my truck and closes the door

I watched as she walks up to her porch, and I didn't start my car until I saw her close her front door behind her

I started my car and drove myself home

Once I got home I walked into the side door that's connected to the kitchen, I closed the door behind me

I turned around to see my family waiting in the kitchen for me, everyone including my parents clapping and cheering

I walked in and my sisters and uncle jack gave me a hug

"I don't approve of the song choice, but it was okay I guess" my mom says

I laughed giving her a hug as my dad pat my back

"I have a question bailey, was that song for someone specific?" My Uncle Jack asked

"Maybe" I say scratching the back of my neck

"Bailey you have a girlfriend?" My dad asked

"No" I say

"Not yet" Ryleigh snickered before her and Kendyll disappeared upstairs

"Something tells me that performance won her over" my dad says

"What?" I asked

"Where's your blazer?" He asked

"Oh I let her have it" I blushed

My uncle jack laughed "b if you need any tips, you always come to me" he smirked

"No, don't give my son any advice!" My mom says pushing uncle jack away from me making him laugh

"Your laughing but I'm dead serious" my mom says

"Jack, you better stop before she kicks your ass" my dad says

"Okay, I'm done" uncle Jack apologize to my mom

"Go get change, we already ordered pizza for dinner it'll be here in a couple minutes" my mom says giving me a hug

I nodded before kissing her cheek and going upstairs
