Chapter 52

Bailey's POV

I exit the bathroom after doing my business, I walk back to my prom as I enter Maggie exit brushing her shoulder against mine, she was clearly upset

"Maggie?" I say following her

She stopped walking from me calling her

I walked in front of her "what happened?, are you okay?" I asked

"no, it's Grant- I tried- turns out he didn't want none of it" she says

"what are you talking about?, Grant loves you" I say

"No he doesn't!, he doesn't want this in the future" she says

"What? Maggie, you've dated him two months behind my back, I think you should've known that Grant doesn't process like that, he not the type of person to plan his future, he likes to live in the moment" I say

"You're right bailey" she says wiping her tears

She puts her hands on my chest as she stepped closer to me

"Woah!" I stepped back her hands fell off my chest

"What are you doing?!" I asked

"Oh I thought-" she started

"Well you thought wrong," I say walking past her and back to the prom

I scanned the room until I saw Grant by the snack table, I started walking towards him to tell what just happened

When I was stopped in my tracks by Lexi she had tears in her eyes

"What's wrong?" I asked

"I need to talk you" she says

I take her hand and follow her out in the hallway where nobody was

"What's up?" I asked

"My mom texted me the DNA test came back" she says

"What?, Wh- What did it say?" I asked

"Jes- Sawyer isn't ours" she says

"That means he's mine. I have a little brother" I say with a smile excitement ran through my body until I realized that means Lexi won't have a brother any longer

"I'm sorry Lexi" I say dropping my smile

"don't apologize for being happy, and I'm happy for you" she smiles

I smiled

"So what's wrong?" I asked noticing she still upset about something

"My moms want me to come home like right now" she says

"I can get an Lyft for you" I say

"No, Bailey I don't wanna leave, I'm afraid that if I leave I'm gonna be able to see you again" she says

"Why do you think that?" I asked

"I overheard my moms talking, they said when the DNA test comes back that they're gonna file a restraining order against your parents" she says

"What? Why?" I asked

"I'm guessing they thought if DNA test came back positive for them your parents would try a different way to get him back" she says

"Please bailey, help me" she says

"Hey, everything is going to be okay" I say tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear

"We can stay at motel tonight, let me just tell Grant we're leaving" I say

"Okay, I love you" she says

"I love you too" I say before giving her kiss

I walked back into dance too see Grant slow dancing with a girl, I still have to tell him about Maggie but I don't wanna ruin his fun. He looks up at me while he's still dancing I motion to him that I was leaving and he gave me wave.

While walked towards the front of the building I ordered a lyft for Lexi and I. When I get to the front I see Lexi holding her arms as if she was cold, I took of my jacket before putting it on her shoulders she gives me a smile

"The lyft is 30 minutes away" I tell her

after 30 minutes the lyft arrived, I opened the door for Lexi to enter first and I followed her action, I tell the driver where we want to go and I held Lexi's hand the whole ride
