Chapter 37

Bailey's POV
The Next Day

This morning I felt better, I didn't feel like I did the last couple weeks, I don't know if it's probably because Lexi is back in my life

I got dressed and went downstairs for breakfast "here's the supastar!" Uncle jack joked

I chuckled sitting down at the table "so Jack and I are gonna do some woodworking tomorrow you wanna join or are you gonna be too busy wooing the ladies?" My dad asked

"I planned on hanging out with Grant tomorrow" I say

"Bring him too it'll be fun" my dad said

"Gray" Uncle jack says

"What?" My dad says

"They're teenage boys they are not gonna wanna get up at nine o'clock in the morning on a Saturday to fix a wooden fence for free" Uncle jack pointed out

"Fine, Sorry I asked" my dad says

After breakfast Ryleigh, Kendyll, my dad and uncle jack left already

I helped my mom with the dishes before giving her hug goodbye and going to my truck to drive to school

When I arrived at school everyone was talking about my performance at the talent show last night even the people who didn't even come, I'm guessing there's a video that's going around

Girls who never gave me a thought were giggling and winking my way, While Guys either high five me or laughed at me

The Teachers were giving me a looks

A female counselor who is just three years older than me, said she saw my performance and asked if I ever wanted to talk to come see her but she added a flirtatious wink

Which left me weirded out so I just hurried off to my locker

First and second period went by quickly as usual and third period came and I was naturally nervous, I was pretty confident last night but now it's a different story

Facing the girl I did all that for, I don't know if I'll continue with that confidence or I'll just trip right over it

But to my surprise Lexi didn't show for third hour, I don't know if she's skipping again or she just not here

Third hour felt like it went on forever since there was a substitute, I felt everyone's eyes on me causing my confidence to cripple

So I was more than happy when it was time for lunch, walking to lunch was a little difficult everyone became more aggressive then this morning

Most to blame is the football players hyping everyone up causing the halls to get crowded but thankfully Grant came to the recuse

Pushing people out the way creating a space for me to walk

Once we walked into the cafeteria I saw security guards and teachers breaking up the crowd telling everyone to either go to class or get to the cafeteria

"Thanks Man" I say

"No problem it look like you was going to eaten in there" he joked

"Your performance was something, I overheard the freshman girls in the girls locker room talking about you" Maggie says

"I just wanted Lexi's attention not the entire schools" I say

After few minutes of chatting, we got our lunch and I just finished eating I stood up and threw away my tray

As I was walking back to my lunch table, someone jumped on my back which freaked me out

"Woah!" I say

They jump down off my back and I turned around to see Lexi with smiling from ear to ear

She grabbed my shirt and pulled me into a kiss which caught me off guard, but I quickly relaxed and wrapped my arms around her waist

She pulled away from me before jumping on me, wrapping her legs around my torso   as I held her she re-attached to our kiss making everyone cheer and holler in the cafeteria, I mostly hear Grant

We pulled away and I put down and we have each other a hug

It's the end of school and I told Lexi I'll drive her home because her car still in the shop but right now we're in the park sitting in the back of my truck watching the sun set

A blanket covers our legs but mostly hers, her head lays on my shoulder and our hands are entwined it's quiet but it's perfect

"Lexi" I spoke up

"Yeah?" She says

"Are you going to prom?" I asked

"Yeah, but I'm going to by myself no one asked me" she says

"Maybe you can go with me as my girlfriend" I say looking at her

She lifts up her head to look at me correctly "are asking me to prom?" She asked

"And to be my girlfriend" I say

She smiles "yes" she says

"For prom or to be my girlfriend?" I asked

"Both" She says

I smile as she kisses me

After a while of sitting in the back of my truck, I had to get Lexi home, didn't want her moms to worry

I watch as she walked in and close the door behind her and I drove myself home
