**Episode 16**

---

The clock ticked past 2 a.m., and Hana lay awake in her room, her gaze fixed on a picture of Jungkook. Silence enveloped her as tears streamed down her face. She spoke softly, addressing the image as if it were her confidant.

"Look, Jungkook-ah, your Hana is strong now. I've become stronger. My promise wasn't empty."

She cried bitterly, her voice trembling with the weight of her emotions.

"And you know what? It really hurt. I wanted to die at that moment. The pain was overwhelming, and I don't know when he'll ever forgive me. You were right, Jungkook-ah—I truly hurt him. He's not the Taehyung I knew; he's changed."

Exhausted and emotionally drained, Hana eventually drifted into a restless sleep.

In the days that followed, Taehyung remained distant, communicating with Hana only about work-related matters. His cold demeanor was a stark contrast to their previous interactions. One day, as Hana worked in her office, she received a phone call from Soomin.

"Ne?" Hana answered, her voice tinged with curiosity.

"Hana-ya, did you inform Daepu-nim about the meeting with Mr. Song?" Soomin's voice was fraught with worry.

"Meeting? What are you talking about, Soomin-ah? How could I know about it?"

Soomin hesitated before replying, "Well, Hana-ya... I forgot to check on Mr. Chou's message about the meeting. I made a mistake."

"What's the issue?" Hana asked, alarmed.

"Ah, actually, Hana-ya, it was a crucial meeting with Mr. Song, and Daepu-nim was really looking forward to it. Mr. Jung informed me that Daepu-nim would be there, but he wasn't, and the meeting was yesterday."

Hana's heart sank. "What are you saying, Soomin?"

"Ne, Hana-ya, it's all my fault. I didn't inform you, and now Mr. Jung has told me that Daepu-nim is furious because he believes it's your responsibility to handle these matters."

"Are you kidding me? He'll kill me for this. You know how he reacts," Hana said, her voice filled with despair.

"I'm really sorry, Hana-ya. Please, don't tell Daepu-nim about this incident. He might fire me," Soomin pleaded.

"And what about me?" Hana's voice was tinged with frustration.

"Please, Hana-ya—"

At that moment, the door to her office burst open, and Taehyung stormed in. Hana's heart raced as she realized the severity of the situation.

"I'm dead," she thought.

"Da-Daepu-nim, what brings you here?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Without a word, Taehyung dragged her out of the office and pushed her forcefully onto the floor of the hallway. The sudden action drew the attention of everyone around.

Hana lay on the floor, shocked and embarrassed. Soomin, looking mortified, murmured an apology.

"I'm sorry, Hana-ya," she said, her face flushed with shame.

Taehyung, his anger palpable, sat down in front of Hana, his rage barely contained.

"What did I do, Daepu—" Hana began, but Taehyung cut her off with a sharp slap across her face. The impact echoed through the hallway.

Hana's face was a mask of shock as she looked up at him, her right hand instinctively touching the reddening mark on her cheek.

"What did you do? Do you have any idea, Ahn Hana, what you've done?" he roared.
