Once arriving back at her house after Sweet Pea gave her a ride home, Jack climbed off his bike. She gave her best friend a hug goodbye before heading toward the backyard. There was a door to the basement of her large house, which was made into a finished one and that happened to be all hers. There was a large living room included and a bedroom, which she had all to herself. Sometimes, since Elena's TV was broken, she came downstairs to watch TV, but Jack figured it wouldn't be the case that night since it was so late.
Of course, with Jack's luck, when she opened the backdoor, she found Elena watching TV as she sat on one of the couches. Elena rolled her eyes as she heard Jack enter.
She stood up, turning to face her younger sister. She crossed her arms over her chest, giving Jack a questioning look, "Where the hell have you been?" Elena questioned her sister concerned, only to inhale deeply to smell the stench of cheap beer and weed. Her eyes widened in realization, clearly figuring out where Jack had been, "You were with them again, weren't you?"
Jack remained silent, which angered Elena, "What did I tell you, Jack?" Elena raised her voice to her younger sister, "Stay away from them! They're dangerous!"
"Actually, the Serpents are good people," Jack argued, "Sadly, I can't say the same about your friends."
"What the hell are you talking about?" Elena asked Jack, a confused look on her face.
"I punched Reggie at lunch because he called you a crazy bitch. I thought you guys were friends. Huh. I wonder what else your friends are saying behind your back." Jack growled at Elena angrily.
Elena remained silent, wondering what made Jack suddenly become so mean to her, "You're drunk," She realized in a calm tone, "Because of that, I'm not going to take anything you say seriously. We have school tomorrow. So right now, I'm going to help you get in your pajamas and into bed before Mom gets home to find you like this."
As Elena went to grab Jack's arm, Jack roughly pulled herself out of her elder sister's grip, "I'm not five years old," Jack argued angrily, "I don't need you to help me get dressed."
"Fine," Elena replied with an attitude, "Do it yourself."
With that, Elena headed upstairs and Jack walked over to her bedroom door. She opened the double doors and entered her room. As she went to pull her shirt over her head, she ended up getting stuck in the tight material, "Crap!" She cursed to herself.
Just then, she heard footsteps approaching and she didn't need to see the person to know that it was Elena. Elena helped Jack pull off her shirt before tossing it into the laundry basket. While Jack pulled off her jeans, Elena went and got her some shorts and a tank top.
After she had gotten dressed, the sibling duo walked over to Jack's bed. Jack got under the covers and Elena laid beside her, just as they did when they were younger. The two sisters clearly needed to be in the comfort of each other that night, both for different reasons.
