The following day, Reggie asked Jack out on a date to the Twilight Drive-In. A new movie called Oujia was playing and Reggie already knew that Jack loved horror movies, which lead to him bringing her.
Even though they should have been watching the movie, Jack and Reggie sat in Reggie's car, making out with each other. Reggie began to kiss down Jack's neck when Jack pulled away, "I have to go to the bathroom," She told him and Reggie nodded.
Jack gave him a quick kiss before getting out of the passenger's seat. She walked to the bathroom and did her thing before exiting the bathroom that seemed to be filled with gossiping women.
Suddenly, as she began to walk back to Reggie's car, she was cornered by Ghoulies, led by Malachai. She tried to walk past them, only to have them block her way, "Do you mind?" She asked them, annoyance laced in her tone of voice.
She groaned in frustration when they didn't move and turned to Malachai, "What the hell are you doing here, Malachai?" She asked him annoyance, "Last time I checked, the Twilight Drive-In was Serpent territory, not Ghoulies."
"What do all your little Northside buddies think about you being a Serpent?" Malachai questioned Jack, ignoring the question she had asked him. He smirked when he Jack remained silent, "They don't know, do they? Hmm."
Malachai began to walk closer to Jack, but the girl showed no fear toward him, "You better leave her alone, Malachai," A familiar voice suddenly spoke up, causing Jack to turn her head to see FP standing with Joaquin and Sweet Pea.
"And what are you going to do about it, Old Man?" Malachai asked with an amused smile on his face.
It all had happened so fast for Jack. She had no clue how it all started, but all knew was within the blink of an eye, Malachai and FP were fist fighting while Joaquin and Sweet Pea tried their best to hold off Malachai's guys. Even Jack was forced to take part, not wanting her two friends to get hurt.
Soon enough, the cops had arrived. Sweet Pea, Joaquin, and FP were arrested while Ghoulies ran away in just enough time to not get arrested.
Unlike her friends and FP, Jack was let off with a warning, but that was expected. Northside privilege and all. No matter how much she hated to admit it, she had that, unlike the rest of her friends.
Needing to get home as soon as possible, Jack ran to Reggie's car to see him in the middle of dialing her number. Jack quickly opened the door and got in, causing Reggie's eyes to widen in shock when he saw her bloody lip, "What the hell happened to you!" He exclaimed, forcing her to turn her head so he could get a better look at her lip.
"I'm fine," Jack replied quickly, "Can you just drive me home? I need to convince my mom to bail them out."
"Bail who out?" Reggie asked her confused.
"Sweet Pea, FP, and Joaquin!" She nearly shouted before becoming quietly, "Just please, Reggie. Just drive. I need to help my friends."
Reggie let out a sigh, just before starting up his car. On the way home, Jack had gotten a text from Sweet Pea, telling her that he and Joaquin were let go while FP was being forced to stay.
Once arriving at her house, Jack gave Reggie a quick goodbye before rushing into her house, "Mom? Mom!" She shouted out loudly, causing her mom to quickly come down the stairs.
"What is it?" Diana asked, only to have her eyes widen when she saw her daughter's lip, "What the hell happened to you? Did something happen with Reggie? I swear to God, if he laid a hand on you—"
Jack immediately shook her head, "No, it has to do with the Serpents," She informed her mother quickly, "The Ghoulies picked a fight with me at the Drive-In. FP and my friends stuck up for me and got arrested by the cops because of the fight that happened. Sweet Pea and Joaquin were let go, but FP's still being held. Please, Mom, you need to help him get out. It's my fault he's there in the first place."
Diana was silent for a long moment, hesitant to agree. That was when she realized, if she were to have been in that position, FP would have helped her in a second.
"Fine," She decided, shocking Jack as she picked up her keys, "Let's go."
Jack was taken aback at first before finally following her mother out the door and to her car.

Once arriving at the Sheriff's Station, Diana was somehow able to convince Sheriff Keller to let FP go, which shocked everyone, especially Jack, who didn't know her mother would have been able to do it.
As FP was escorted out by a deputy, a smile formed on both his own face and Diana's face, "Diana," He stated, clearly shocked to see the woman.
"How long has it been?" Diana asked with a smile on her face, watching as FP was uncuffed before he walked over to her and Jack, "Two years?"
"Sounds about right," FP replied before hugging Diana, causing Jack to frown in confusion.
"Um..." Jack trailed off in confusion, causing the two adults to turn to her.
"It's not like that, Jack," Diana assured her daughter, "FP and I were best friends growing up until I met your father and FP started screwing around with my sister."
"It wasn't like that," FP complained, causing Diana to roll her eyes as she hummed in response, clearly not believing him.
Jack scoffed, "Huh," She responded, "That sounds a lot like the position I was just in with Elena."
"What do you mean?" Diana asked her daughter confused as they all walked out of the police station together.
"Well, as you two know, Sweet Pea's my best friend. Well, turns out, Elena and Sweet Pea were screwing around behind my back, which led to me not talking to both of them for a week."
"That does sound a lot like our situation," FP commented, "But the only difference is, the three of us stopped talking to each other for ten years."
"Okay, well that's just dramatic," Jack responded, causing the group to laugh loudly.
It was quiet for a moment as the laughter died down, "So, FP...Tell me. What made you think it was okay to allow my daughter to become a Serpent?" Diana asked FP as they entered the car.
FP's eyes widened in shock as he turned to her, "I--"
"I'm only kidding. Relax," Diana assured her, "But I'll tell you now. If anything happens to her because of the Serpents, I'm coming after you."
Jack couldn't help but laugh at how nervous FP looked. She leaned forward in her middle seat in the back and turned to her mom, "So, you're fine with me becoming a Serpent?" She asked curiously.
"Well, I know if I tell you that you can't, you're going to do it anyway," Diana replied and Jack nodded her head in agreement, knowing she was right, "Just be careful up on that stage. I just don't think it's a good idea to do with your BPD."
"What do you mean?" Jack asked her mother confused, but Diana didn't respond as she started to drive in the direction of FP's trailer, "Okay then...Don't answer."
The rest of the car ride was silent, which had Jack thinking hard on what her mom meant about the Serpent Dance. What did it have to do with your BPD?
