In Jack's room in the basement, Jack was on the phone with Sweet Pea. She had already gotten and with how long it took Elena to get ready Saturday morning, she had twenty minutes at least before she had to head upstairs, "You're an asshole," Jack complained, causing to Sweet Pea laugh humorlessly on the other end of the phone.
"What'd I do this time?" Sweet Pea questioned her mockingly and Jack could almost imagine him rolling his eyes at that moment.
"I called you last night," Jack informed him with a sigh, "My cousin Betty and I planned a dinner for the family. Elena and Polly got into a fight and I ended up being pushed into the table. I now have a big ass cut on my forehead, a bruised nose, and bruises on my ass that will probably last months."
Sweet Pea laughed in amusement at Jack's explanation, "Why do I have the feeling that's not all that happened last night?" He asked her and Jack remained silent, "Jack?"
"I spent the night at Reggie's," She informed him, her voice barely audible.
"What?" Sweet Pea gasped in shock, "No way! Did anything happen?"
"Nope," Jack replied, popping the 'P' as she did so, "I'm surprised. He slept on the floor while I took the bed. Oh, and one more thing, my dad's back."
"What?" Sweet Pea asked in disbelief.
"Yup," Jack confirmed, "He arrived this morning. I'm just as shocked as you are. Listen, there's more, but I have to go upstairs. The four of us are going to Pop's for breakfast. Talk to you after?"
"Sure," Sweet Pea replied with a sigh, "Good luck."
"Thanks, Pea," Jack laughed, "I'm definitely going to need it."
Meanwhile later, once the family of four arrived at Pop's, they took a seat at their usual booth. Carter and Diana sat next to each other while Jack and Elena sat across from them. Jack knew there was something odd about the way her parents were acting around each other, but didn't bother asking, knowing it would only cause chaos.
It had been twenty minutes since they'd arrived and Elena was telling her father the story about what happened with the Baxter High Cheerleaders, which caused Jack to shift uncomfortably in her seat numerous times during the conversation.
Her eyes were locked the booth near them that consisted of Jason, Reggie and Chuck. Reggie kept glancing at her as she talked with his two best friends and Jack couldn't help but wonder what they talking about.
"So do you know happened to the girl, Jack?" Carter asked, but Jack was in such deep thought that she didn't hear his question, "Jack?" He repeated her name, causing Jack to finally turn to him with wide eyes.
"What?" She responded, a semi-confused look on her face.
"What happened with the cheerleader girl?" He asked her and Jack shrugged, "Did you apologize?"
