"Are you free this weekend?"

"I am only on Saturday. Why?"

"No reason."

"Oh?"

"You'll see."

I smiled to myself. I knew what he was doing. He's going to try to see me. Jokes on him. I am planning on going down there myself. I have a family member that lives by the cafe Ren is staying at. I was going to head over there Friday night and go to the cafe in the morning for breakfast. I was really going to surprise him. Thank goodness Friday is tomorrow. I didn't want to wait.

"Do you have everything?" my mother asked.

"I believe I do," I said as I made one last mental check.

"Alright. Tell Ren we said hi," my mother said as she hugged me.

"I will, mom."

"Be careful over there," my father said.

"Will do!"

"We'll see you on Sunday," my mom said.

"See you Sunday," I said as I grabbed my bag and headed off to the station. My aunt was going to pick me up from there. I got onto the train and waited silently as it drove over towards that area of the city. When we got there, I walked out of the station and headed to the meeting point. I waited there for a few minutes and saw my aunt walking towards me.

"How are you, Y/N?"

"A bit tired from the long train ride."

"I bet you are. Come on, I think a late night walk will help."

"That's right, you're not that far from the station."

"Yep."

I followed her and before I knew it, we were there.

"The cafe is down the street from here. It doesn't open up until seven."

"Ok," I said.

We entered her house and I saw my uncle was there waiting for me.

"Y/N, how was the ride here?"

"Exhausting."

"I bet it was. So, I heard you were coming down here to see a friend. Is that correct?"

"It is. Remember Ren Amamiya?"

"Yeah I remember him. Black hair, glasses, and a bit shy. He was always a shy kid when he first met people."

"Yeah. That's Ren for ya."

"Well if you're planning on meeting him tomorrow morning, you better head off to bed."

"Yeah," I yawned.

"See you in the morning, kiddo."

"Night, uncle."

I headed upstairs and into the room they had ready for me. I put my bag on the floor and changed into my pjs. I got into bed and fell asleep.

In the morning, my aunt woke me up and I got ready. I put on one of my favorite t-shirts, jeans, socks and shoes, and a light jacket. I walked towards the front door and waited for my aunt. She came downstairs and we walked over to the cafe. We walked in and Sakura greeted us.

"Good morning," he said. "Table for how many?"

"Two please," my aunt said.

We sat down at a booth and I had my back towards the stairs. I ordered a cup of tea and my aunt ordered a cup of coffee. A kid who had blonde hair walked in. He was wearing jeans, these suspenders that were down to his thighs, and a yellow shirt with a star on it.

"Table for how many?" Sakura asked the kid.

"Oh, I'm just waiting for Ren."

"What for?"

"We're going to be visiting his friend today."

"You better be back here before I close up. I close up at six."

"We won't be a minute late, sir."

"Better not. I don't want to wait around for him."

"With all due respect, sir, why don't you give him a key?"

"And trust him with my cafe? No way in hell would I ever do that?"

"No, it was just so that he can get in if he's late and you're tired of waiting for him."

"I do see your point there. I might think about it."

Ren came down the stairs and walked over to the kid.

"Ready, Ren?"

"Yeah. I won't be long-" he stopped and looked over at me. "Y/N?"

I looked up and smiled, "Hi, Ren."

"Y/N!" he smiled and walked over to me.

I got up and hugged him.

"I didn't expect you to come here!"

"I told you I'd come and visit."

"We told each other we would."

"I knew what you were implying when you asked if I was free this weekend. Turns out, I was just a step ahead of you."

He smiled, "Seems like you were. Oh, Y/N, this is Ryuji. He's a friend from Shujin."

"Nice to meet you," Ryuji said and held out his hand.

I shook his hand, "Nice to meet you, Ryuji. I'm Y/N."

"Ren has mentioned you before."

"He has?" I asked and looked over at him.

He smiled nervously, "Anyway, we should let you get back to your breakfast. I'll wait for you outside?"

"Why don't you come sit and join us? I don't think my aunt will mind."

"Won't mind at all," she said.

Ren sat next to me and Ryuji pulled up a chair and sat at the end of the table. We ate breakfast together and my aunt gave me some money and we were off for the day.

"So, did you have a plan?" I asked.

"Well, since this was unexpected, I don't really have much," Ren said.

"We can show her Shujin!" Ryuji said.

"We can," Ren said. Ren pulled Ryuji close to him for a second, "Don't mention anything about the castle."

"I got it," Ryuji said.

I followed them to Shujin and we stopped by the steps.

"This is a bigger school from the one you used to attend," I said.

"Yeah. You can get lost pretty quick in there," Ren said.

"It's like a maze," Ryuji said.

"Maybe we can go into town and look around there," I suggested.

"Sounds good," Ren said.

We all headed down towards the town area. A lot of people were out and about today. There really wasn't much down here that I knew. Neither did Ren since he just moved here a week ago. When it was around four, we headed back to the cafe. Ryuji said goodbye to Ren and myself.

"Well, I hope to see you sometime," I said.

"Yeah. It was nice to see you, Y/N."

I hugged Ren goodbye and he walked into the cafe. I headed back towards my aunt's house.

"Was that your girlfriend?" Sakura asked.

"It's not like that. We're just good friends."

He scoffed, "Not the way you treat her."

"I don't think we'd work out as a couple."

"You never know until you try it."
