I looked behind me and saw Ryuji.
"Ryuji?"
"Hey, what's up man?"
"Um, nothing much."
"Hi, Y/N," he said.
"Hi, Ryuji."
"So what brings you out here?" Ryuji asked.
"Her parents and sister are out tonight. Might as well go out as well."
"Oh nice."
"I'm going to head to the bathroom real quick," Y/N said.
She got up and walked over to the bathroom. Ryuji sat down.
"This is kind of important, Ryuji."
"How so?"
"This is my first date with Y/N. Although we both silently agreed on it being our first date, we don't really want interruptions. Ryuji, you're the best, but I think we should get some alone time."
"I understand," he smiled. He got up and winked at me, "Go get 'em tiger!"
I smiled to myself and waved goodbye to him. Y/N came back and sat down.
"Sorry about that," I said.
"It's not a problem. Ryuji is understanding."
After we had dinner, we walked out into the city to just have fun. There was a small festival going on and we decided it would be fun to just hang out there. We ran into a few of the Phantom Thieves members and hung out with them for a little bit. But it was mostly just the two of us together. We walked towards one of the beaches and sat there for a little bit. The wind calming blowing between us.
"I hope you had a fun night, Y/N," Ren said.
"It was a wonderful night," I said as I leaned my head onto his shoulder.
"I've been meaning to ask you something?"
"Sure."
"I know we didn't really verbally say it, but did you consider this a date?"
"Well, we are alone and we did kiss last night. I think it is," I said.
"I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't thinking this situation wasn't meant to be."
"Ren, I think we were meant to be friends. I think we're meant to be a potential couple."
He smiled and kissed the top of my head, "Thank you."
"I should be thanking you. You bought me dinner."
He chuckled, "I did do that."
I smiled at him and looked out at the water. The moon reflected off of the surface. We both sat in silence before heading back towards the house. We sat together on the train and I almost fell asleep. Thankfully Ren woke me up. We walked into my house to see my sister passed out on the sofa.
"Hopefully she wasn't drinking," Ren said.
"Only one way to find out."
I walked over to her and smelled her clothing. It reeked of wine and beer.
"Yep."
"Does your mom knows she drinks?"
"Kind of, but she this is the first time she's drunk. My mom's not going to like that."
"She definitely would not."
I looked over into the kitchen and saw my mom was standing at the counter.
"It's almost eleven o'clock. Where have you two been?"
"We just went over to the other side to get some ramen for dinner," I said. "There was a festival in the area and we decided to go. We sat on the beach for a little bit and came back here."
"Did that really happen?" she asked Ren.
"It did."
"Do you not trust me?" I asked.
"I do. I just wanted his confirmation on what happened tonight too."
"What happened to her?" I asked as I looked at my sister.
"Got drunk. Her friend called me and I had to pick all of them up. I then had to drop off your father to get the car from the parking lot."
"Are you going to punish her?"
"Oh yeah," my mom said. "She's not driving for at least two weeks."
"I'm going to get ready for bed."
"Ok. Goodnight, dear. Goodnight, Ren."
"Goodnight, Mrs. L/N," he said.
We walked up the stairs and before going into our rooms, he caught my attention.
"Should we tell your mom?"
"About us?"
"Yeah."
I thought for a moment, "Do you even consider us dating?"
"I think so," he said. "Do you?"
"Yeah, but we should tell her later. Not when she's dealing with my sister right now."
"I understand."
"Goodnight, Ren," I said.
"Goodnight, Y/N," he said.
I hugged him and he kissed the top of my head. He pulled away and we both went into our rooms. I got changed and got onto my bed. My dog joined me and licked my face. I smiled and rubbed her head.
"She really does like you," Morgana said.
"Yep," I said.
"You better treat her well."
"Believe me, Morgana, I need to. She's the only friend I've ever had until recently. Sure the Phantom Thieves were there for me, but not in the way Y/N was. She's been there for everything that has happened."
"Yeah," Morgana said as he stretched out onto my bed.
"You're not sleeping in the middle of the bed are you?"
"What makes you say that?"
"Morgana, you've done it a few times already."
"Alright fine," he hissed and jumped off the bed and onto my dresser. "You've got a long day tomorrow. I think you should get some sleep."
"Yeah," I said as I took off my glasses. I turned out the lights and got into bed.
I woke up sweating bullets. It was just another dream. Another dream about something I don't remember. It was of a spirit of something. Or was it a ghost? I was utterly confused now. I tried falling back asleep, but I just ended up laying awake for about an hour. I looked at my phone and it read 4:30 in the morning. I sighed and tried to fall asleep again, but to no avail, I was still awake. I got up and walked towards Ren's room. I knew he wasn't a heavy sleeper. I knocked on his door. I waited a few moments until he opened the door.
"Y/N?"
"I can't sleep."
"If your parents find out you came in here, they wouldn't like that."
"I'll try to move back into my room in the morning."
"Ok."
I walked into his room and rubbed Morgana's head. His ears flicked, but he was still asleep on the shelf. I got into the bed and Ren got in. At first, our backs were up against each other's, but a after a while, Ren moved over and put his arm around me.
"It'll be ok. I'm here now," he whispered in my ear.
I smiled, "I know you are." I intertwined my hand with his and fell asleep.
