Chapter 14

I opened up my eyes to see Ren was still sleeping next to me. I smiled to myself and buried my face in the crook of his neck. He moved his head up to make room for mine. I smiled and wrapped my arms around him, drawing him closer to me. He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tightly. I kissed his neck lightly. He smiled and he rubbed his hands up and down my back. After a while, he pulled away and smiled down at me.

"Afternoon, sleepy head," he said.

I chuckled and put my hand on his cheek. I pressed my lips against his and he kissed back. I pulled away and he pecked my lips.

"I may not be the most romantic person you've ever met, but I love you with all my heart," he said.

I smiled, "I love you with all my heart."

He got out of his bed and grabbed his glasses. He laid back down and wrapped his arm around me.

"What do you want to do?"

"I don't know," I said.

"School is over and now we have a lot of free time."

"I think we should look for a place for us."

"You think so?"

"Yeah. I think getting some independence will be good for us. Besides, I don't think my parents want to know what we're doing in here or in my room."

"I can see where you're coming from."

"And we can have our privacy."

"Yeah. When should we start looking?"

"Well the question is where do you want to look? Do you want an apartment in the city, a few minutes from the city, outside the city? We can go anywhere that is not really expensive."

"I think I might know a place," he said.

"Do you want to head out there tomorrow?"

"Sure."

Before I got up, I kissed his cheek and rubbed Morgana's head. I walked out of his room and into mine.

"You two are so cute together," my sister said.

"Remember that bet we made?"

"When you were ten?"

"Yes."

"Yeah I remember it."

"Well, looks like you lost the bet." My sister grumbled to herself and handed me a hundred yen. I smiled to myself. "Pleasure doing business with you."

She just laughed, "I still don't understand how you were able to get a boyfriend before I did."

"Just how the dice rolls," I said and walked into my room. I walked over to the closet and opened up the shoe box. I put the money in there and put it away. I think that could help with the apartment. I walked over to my dog and rubbed her head. She smiled and licked my hand. There was a knock on my door.

"Come in."

Ren came into the room and my dog immediately walked up to him.

"Hi, there," Ren said as he rubbed her head. He sat down on the ground and my dog licked his face. He had to take off his glasses to avoid them from getting dirty. I walked over to them and sat next to Ren. My dog walked over to me, licked my face, and then laid across us.

"I forgot what it was like to have dog," Ren said. "I had one when I was very young. Unfortunately he passed away before I got to maintain memories about him."

"What was his name?"

"Flash. My parents said he was one of the fastest dogs out there. After he passed away, they didn't want to get another one."

"I could see why. Replacing a pet can be hard in some cases. I know they don't want to forget about your dog, but if they wanted another one, they should have gotten one."

"My dad did ask my mom if she wanted another dog. She was still upset about Flash's passing."

There was another knock on my door.

"Come in," I said.

The door opened and I turned to see my mother was standing at the doorway.

"Hi, mom," I said.

"Hi, sweetheart. Hi, Ren."

"Hi, Mrs. L/N."

"Dinner will be ready in a few minutes. Come here Scarlet!"

Scarlet got up and walked over to my mom and wagged her tail. My mom rubbed her head and she followed her downstairs. Ren got up from the floor and helped me up. We walked downstairs and helped my mom set the table. After dinner, my mother went upstairs and my father went into the study. My sister went into her room and Ren and I were downstairs.

"Want to watch a movie?"

"Sure," he said.

He chose a movie for us and I was getting popcorn ready. I came over with the bowl and sat next to him. As we were watching the movie, my head was on his shoulder and our hands were intertwined with one another's. I fell asleep during the movie. Ren had to turn off the TV when it was over and he put the bowl in the dishwasher. He came over to me and lifted me up bridal style. I clung onto his neck as he walked up the stairs. He set me on my bed, but I didn't let go of him.

"Y/N, can you please let go?"

"Can you stay here for the night?"

He smiled, "Sure."

He removed the covers from my bed and crawled in. He wrapped them around me. I placed my back into his chest and his arm came around me. I intertwined my hand with his and he kissed my head.

"Goodnight, Y/N. I love you."

"Goodnight, Ren. I love you, too."
