A few days had passed and Ren was able to come home. I had to help him with his stitches and making sure they didn't open up. Hinata was curious about his stitches. She almost opened one up, but Ren caught her in time. My mother took her for the weekend so we could get some time alone with one another. It was mostly me helping him bathe and stuff like that. We sat out on the balcony for a little bit.

"There's something wrong," he said.

"What?"

"There's something wrong."

"What do you mean?"

"There's something wrong. It's nothing to do with outside conflict, more inner."

"How can you tell?"

"You've been really quiet lately. Even Hinata noticed it."

"She's a smart girl," I said.

"She is, but I could tell before she knew. Y/N, is there something wrong?"

I sighed, "After that night, I blamed myself for what happened to you. I should have stayed there and protected you. I know I had Hinata with me and if I did, I would have put her life in danger as well as mine. You were more than willing to die for me and her. That's what I blame myself for. You could have died and I wasn't there to help you." Tears rolled down my face as I continued to talk. "I blamed myself for your condition. If it wasn't for me, then you wouldn't be in this situation. I know I shouldn't, but it's hard not to. I don't blame you for what happened. I just blame my-"

He cut me off by placing his lips forcefully on mine. I tried to pull away, but he cupped my cheeks and held me there. I finally gave in and kissed back. He broke away and took a deep breath. He looked into my eyes and a tear slipped down his cheek. He wipe away my tears and kissed me softer this time. I pulled away and he pressed his forehead against mine.

"Y/N, don't blame yourself for what happened. It wasn't your fault. None of that was your fault. It was more like my fault because I didn't deal with him the first time around. I'm not going to let him get to me again a third time. If he even threatens your life or Hinata's life, I will do whatever it takes."

I sadly smiled at him, "But you could end up in jail."

"Even if it means going to jail, I would do anything. I would do anything to make sure you and Hinata are safe from harm. I made a promise, not only to you, but to Hinata."

I kissed his cheek and smiled, "Thank you."

He kissed me once more and ran his tongue across my bottom lip. I gladly accepted and his tongue slid across mine. I pulled away after a few moments later and rested my head against his shoulder.

"I love you, Y/N."

"I love you too, Ren."

~1 week~

A week had passed and Ren was going to do a test. This was risky, which I told him, but he still wanted to do it. He was going to go out with Jake and myself to see if they could get Akechi to come out. Hinata was going to be with my sister while we were doing this. She thought it was a crazy idea, but she hoped that we would succeed. Jake was there if things get out of hand with Akechi. We got everything we needed and headed out to where we first saw Akechi.

"Do you think he'll come?" I asked once we got there.

"Let's hope so," Ren said.

Jake was hidden and wasn't allowed to come out until he felt it was necessary to infiltrate. We waited there for a few minutes until we saw Akechi walking towards us.

"My, my, what a wonderful night for a walk."

"Why the hell are you stalking us, Akechi?" Ren asked.

"Because I want something."

"And that is?"

"Why would I tell you?"

"If you told us what we can give you, then we might be able to make a deal."

"Alright then. I want her," he said and looked over at me.

"Me?"

"Yes, you. I want you."

"Why?" Ren asked as he stood in front of me.

"To make you suffer. I want to make you suffer just like you made me suffer!"

"I didn't make you suffer. You enjoyed being a Phantom Thief. Don't act like you didn't enjoy it, Akechi! Or should I say, Crow."

"Don't say that name!"

"I can't let you have her."

"Thought you'd say that."

He pulled out a gun and pointed it at me. "This time, it's going through your head!"

He pulled the trigger and Jake came out and tackled both of us to the ground. The bullet grazed his shoulder. He wasn't hurt, but he was bleeding a bit. Akechi came over, ripped Jake off of Ren, and ripped Ren off of me. He picked me up and held the gun towards my head. Ren got up and tried to move.

"Take another step and she's dead."

I grabbed the gun from his hands and pointed it at him. "Hands up."

He put his hands up, but he smirked at me. He pulled out a knife, cut me along my wrist and grabbed me once more.

"I'll be taking her now."

"No! Take me."

He just laughed and disappeared into the darkness. Ren sighed and kicked a garbage can.

"Fuck!" he yelled.

"What are we going to do now?" Jake asked.

"We need to follow him."

They ran after us and tried to keep up. Akechi was fast, but I knew Ren was faster and he was more agile. But Akechi was able to lose them. He turned down an alleyway and disappeared. I was thrown into a room and the door closed. Akechi was standing above me and knelt down. He put his hand underneath my chin and went over my features.

"No wonder why Ren got himself a good wife. You seem smart, caring, loving, and one hell of a body," he said as he ran his hand up and down my side. I didn't like how he was touching me and he could tell I was uncomfortable. "Don't worry, I won't do anything to you, yet."
