"Do you think you can handle this?" Morgana asked.

"I believe I can," I said.

"Good, because if you let us down, I don't know what we'd do," Skull said.

"Look, I can handle this. Just talk me through."

"We'll do more than just talk you through."

I nodded and got into position. Apparently this was a vital mission. Stealing from the casino. I knew there was a little chance of me getting out of there alive. Anyway, they said they needed me. So I might as well be there for them. I headed into the casino and got everything I needed.

"Alright, get out of there, Joker."

"Already on it," I said and started making my way towards an exit. But that was when I was caught. I ran, was provoked by someone who had a persona, and made my way out of there. This place was like a maze. I kept running, but it either lead to a dead end or there were guards that blocked the exit. I had to look for another way out. I looked straight ahead and saw the glass window. That was my exit out of there. I made my way over and jumped out of the window.

"You're such a show off."

"I make it look good," I smirked. I landed and police were surrounding me. Fuck! I looked around and jumped towards the ladder. I climbed my way up and was then knocked back down by the police. Damn, I was surrounded. How could I have been so stupid? I landed on the ground and the police handcuffed me and took the gun and knife away from me.

"We've been chasing your ass all night. We've finally caught you. Take him."

All I remember is being taken to the jail, they took photos of me, and everything around me went black.

"Joker? Joker, do you copy?" Morgana asked.

"Is everything ok?" Ann asked.

"I think our leader may be in trouble."

"What makes you think that?" Ryuji asked.

Morgana turned on the news and they watched everything play out from there.

"Where did they take him?" Ann asked.

"We don't know. We're just going to have to wait."

~3 months~

Three months had gone by and there was no word on where Ren was. I was starting to get worried. He said that after his mission he was going to come visit. After he didn't come the first month in, I grew worried, but I had faith in him. After the second month, I was still in denial. Now it's the third month and I am really starting to worry. I had asked my mom if there was anything on the news about him. She said no and I tried looking for any articles. I found nothing. I sighed and decided to give Ryuji a call. I texted him and waited for his response.

After a week of nothing, I was getting a bit desperate. Ryuji said not to worry about Ren and that he was doing alright. I wanted to believe him, but I then asked him what has he been doing for the past three months. He didn't say anything. I sighed and was about to go to bed. I walked over to my parents room and saw no one was in there. I walked over to my sister's room and that's when I heard my mom's voice.

"What happened to Ren?" my sister asked. "Y/N seems really torn up about him."

"She is. I think she's just worried about his safety. What happened was apparently he was with this group called the Phantom Thieves. They were suspected of doing some things, but this time around they've been caught. He's currently in an interrogation room in the heart of Tokyo," my mother said.

"Interrogation room?"

"Well, I shouldn't say interrogation room. More of a police department."

"Do you know which one?"

"It's just called Tokyo Police Department."

"I see. Did you tell Y/N about this?"

"I didn't want to tell her. I figured she'd be upset by the sudden news."

"How are you going to tell her?"

"I don't think I am going to tell her."

"You're robbing her of knowledge about her best friend. She deserves to know. Is there anyway for him to be released?"

"They're trying to get the full story out of him. I don't know how long he's been doing this."

"Does this change your view on him?"

"A little. I don't think I can trust him around Y/N to be honest."

"I don't blame you. I don't think a criminal should be her best friend."

"I was in denial when he was accused of assault, but after hearing about this, I'm starting to rethink that."

I shook my head. This wasn't true. I didn't want to believe it. My chest was in pain and all I could do was sit there and listen to the rest of the conversation. They basically talked about what they might do and stuff like that. I finally got up and walked over to my room. I closed the door and laid down. My dog licked my hand when I laid on my bed. I rubbed her head and that's when my mom opened up my door. I pretended to be asleep when she walked over to me.

"Goodnight, Y/N. There are--um, forget that."

I laid still and she walked out of my room. I grabbed my phone and unlocked it. I looked through the photos of me and Ren. We were happy when the photos were taken. I went past one that I looked back over. It was a night of a school dance. We made a promise to each other. If neither one of us didn't get asked the week of the dance, we'd go together as friends. And that's what happened. We went together as friends. We danced together. Even for the slow dances. Ren was a bit of a dance person, but he just wanted me to have a good night. It was a good night because I got to be with him for the entire night. I sighed as a few tears slipped down my cheek.

"Where the hell are you Ren?"
