Around 3 in the morning, Hinata cried out for the second time of the night. I was about to get up, but Ren stopped me.

"I'll get her," he said and slid out of bed. He walked over to the crib, calmed her down, and put her back in. He came back over and fell asleep. We got another hour in before she cried again. Ren got up, but fell. I snickered a bit and he calmed her down. He laid down and wrapped his arms around me.

"Please tell me you didn't see that."

"I saw all of it."

"Damn it."

I chuckled and turned to face him. I looked at him and he looked really tired.

"Thank you."

He pecked my lips and smiled, "You're welcome."

We both fell asleep and woke up in the morning. Hinata was crying once more and I got up. I picked her up and took her into the kitchen to get her fed. The place where I worked only let me have two weeks off. Ren came into the kitchen and sat at the table. He was only wearing his boxers to bed, which I didn't realize. But it was becoming summer.

"Is Jake ok with you taking off for a while?"

"He told me to take off as long as I need to."

"I don't want you to miss work. I can get my sister or my mom to watch her. Maybe even my aunt and uncle could watch her."

"They could," Ren said.

"I'll have to find someone when I go back to work."

"I can watch her for a few weeks," Ren said.

"Thank you, but I still want you to work."

"I know, but she needs one of us before we both go back to work."

Hinata turned and looked at Ren. She reached out to him. I smiled and walked over to Ren.

"I think she wants her dad."

Ren smiled and grabbed her from my arms. He lifted her in the air, brought her down, and held her against his chest. She yawned and closed her eyes, listening to Ren's heartbeat.

"Think she likes you?"

"I hope she does."

"Well, you two will spend a lot of time with each other when I go back to work."

"I can go back to work and give you time with her."

"We both can take off for the two weeks and then I'll return back to work."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure."

"Alright."

~2 Year~

Two years has passed and Hinata was growing up so fast. It felt like yesterday she was taking her first steps. Now, she can somewhat talk. For her birthday, my mother, Ryuji, Futaba, Yusuke, Makoto, Haru, Ann, my sister and her husband came to the party. When it was over, we took Hinata out to the beach for a late night walk. My mom wanted to get some nice photos of us, so she joined us for a little bit. Afterwards, it was just the three of us. Ren would occasionally lift Hinata onto his shoulders and let her see the waves. She was very curious with the new environment. Once we were done, we headed back to the apartment, but something seemed off. We were walking back when Ren got this odd vibe. He kept checking over his shoulder.

"Is everything ok?"

"No," he whispered.

We were continuing to walk, but something stopped us. There was a figure threatening to hurt us. I could tell and Ren could tell. He walked in front of Hinata and myself. He tried to look threatening, but I could see he was shaking a bit.

"Who the hell are you? What do you want with us?"

"You know why I'm here."

"I'm sorry, am I supposed to know you?"

"Yes."

"It can't recall I've met a shadow. Come into the light so we can speak formally."

The person walked underneath the street light. It was the youngest detective. Goro Akechi.

"Akechi," Ren said.

"So you do remember me?"

"How can I not?"

"You're right. I was the one to send you to jail."

"You're the one who caused misery to him," I said.

"I see you've got a family, Amamiya. What will you do for them?"

"Anything."

"Good. That's just what I needed to hear. Is that girl your daughter?"

"Don't lay a finger on her! If you do, I swear I will hurt you."

"That means you will end in jail, again. And this time, no one can help you get out."

"You don't know that."

"I can say it was self-defense. They'll believe me because everyone loves me."

"You're suck a dick, Akechi. Your head is far too up your ass that you can't realize what you're doing. Your ego is larger than this entire planet."

"It's a fair argument, but that's now what I'm here for."

"What are you here for?"

"Revenge."

"Why now?"

"Because you have an important role to play now. Not only are you a husband, but also a father. If I were to take you out of the equation, you're left with a widow and a child who had a father, but now only has a mother."

"If you dare hurt either of them," he began.

"Or what? What will you do?"

"Ren," I said.

"Run," he whispered. "He's not after you. He's after me."

"What about you?"

"Just get back to the apartment safely."

I picked up Hinata and ran off towards the apartment. Akechi brought out a gun, turned, and pointed it at me. I looked behind me and watched Ren ran up behind Akechi and tackled him.

"Run, Y/N!" he yelled.

I kept on running and didn't look back. That was a mistake.

"Run, Y/N!"

"You think you can keep them safe?" Akechi asked and shot me in my left shoulder. I yelled in pain and he pushed me off of him. I rolled onto my stomach and was struggling to get up. He came over and put his foot on my back and pushed me into the ground. "You're nothing without your team! You're nothing without your persona to back you up! You're nothing without the metaverse to help you. You're just a helpless human who doesn't know how to defend himself!" He shot me in my right shoulder and he took out a knife. He slashed me along my back. Over and over until I could feel my clothes being soaked with blood. He wiped off the blood from his knife and put it away. "Have fun dying, Joker." He walked off.

I laid there in a pool of my own blood. Everything was getting darker.
