Maya's POV

"He said what?" Riley asked.

This was probably the tenth time I was explaining this to Riley. We were both sitting down in the sand near the water.

"Would you keep your voice down," I yell to her.

"Everyone is up at the dock they can't hear us."

"I don't want someone to walk by and hear."

"Okay whatever now tell me what happened."

"Farkle told me that he liked me."

Her eyes widened, "What did you say?"

"I told him I didn't like him back."

"Maya."

"What? It's the truth," I said.

"You don't like him at all."

"His my best friend and I love him but not in the way he wants."

"Maya you can't keep doing this."

"Doing what?"

"You have two of the best guys I have ever met in love with you and all you can think about is Lucas."

"I can't help it."

"Lucas won't even give you the time of day and you still love him."

"No I don't love him."

"I don't know what you want me to say," Riley said.

"Tell me what to do," I leaned forward and looked out to the ocean.

"I think you should call Freddie and tell him what's going on."

"What happens if I don't?"

"If he hears what happens from someone else he will think your trying to keep a secret."

"Alright I'll tell him."

"Okay I'm going up to the dock," Riley stood up.

I stood up too, "Thanks."

"Good luck."

"I'm going to need it."
