PAST
"Jung Hoseok?" The teacher called out to him while he was packing his bag. The school bell had already rang and almost everyone had left the class. Taehyung was absent today.
"Yes, ma'am?" He looked at the teacher.
"I have something to talk to you about, please follow me."
Hoseok followed the woman to the staff room, she walked over to her seat and pulled out a stool from underneath the table, she asked him to sit. He seated himself and the teacher sat infront of him, not moving her eyes from him.
"How have you been lately?" She smiled warmly.
"Good, I think.. my mum says kids our ages should be happy, so I'm happy."
"That's good, Hoseok!" She cheered, "You should be happy."
"But there's something which might make you a little sad," Her expression grew more serious, "I need you to hear me out."
"What is it, miss?" He was getting a little nervous, and moreover the confusion within him was amplifying.
"It's about your friend. Kim Taehyung."
"What about him?"
"I have a few questions to ask, Hoseok. I hope you'll answer me truthfully."
Hoseok gulped; with a thought, he nodded.
"Do you think Taehyung is upset about something?"
"Upset?"
"Like, always sad, crying, talking in a strange manner, orㅡ is always bruised?"
Hoseok's eyes widened when the teacher mentioned about bruising, he remembered about him being bruised, but he had said he fell down.
"He- He's mostly a crybaby, but- I think- no."
"Have you met his parents?"
"Briefly."
"Have you talked to his father?"
"A little, once we all took a picture over lunch because Taehyung's mother insisted, but we didn't talk much apart from that day. He doesn't talk a lot. He's a silent person, I think."
"Look, Hoseok, I expect you to understand and act because you're sensible and smart for your young age. I know it would be hard for you; but, could you observe him more and spend time with his parents?"
"Why?" His nervousness was getting intense by every passing second.
"We suspect he's being abused."
PRESENT
"Oh my god, please stop crying." Jimin mumbled, he embraced Taehyung in empathy. "What happened?"
"Nothing."
Taehyung had left the cafe right after Hoseok said to leave it. How could he leave it after Hoseok appeared in his life out of the blue with a bothered face? How could he leave it after seeing his various expressions and kindness? He wanted to remember and feel what the guy meant to him, but he couldn't. And he wouldn't tell him either.
