All his worst fears were on their path of coming true. Why is this happening? What can he do to stop it? It's true Hoseok had the same fear that the person he talked to was not Taehyung's mother, afterall the voice and style was so different. But Yoongi's assumptions only made it more certain. And at that moment, he couldn't help but lash back at him. He hoped to his core he wouldn't be proved right but when it was horrifically turning true, he couldn't keep his calm.
But, he can't swallow or accept a careless assumption like Taehyung's real mother is dead. It possibly can't be. Because if that were true, and Taehyung has no idea, then it would be a worst nightmare if he ever remembers. It would be a more worse situation to handle than it would have been if he only remembered the abuse.
Why does things have to be this painful? Why couldn't he have only happy experiences?
Hoseok walked back home. His phone rang, he checked the caller to be Taehyung, and kept the phone back in his pocket. There were a few more subsequent calls but Hoseok was persistent on not picking them up. I don't know what to say to him.. not after my outlash back there.
What if he has heard everything me and Yoongi talked about?
But as I know, he would have reacted if he did overhear us.
I hope he didn't.
He walked inside his apartment, Jimin wasn't home. Right, he told him in the afternoon that Jungkook wanted to talk about something, and they would be hanging out over dinner. So, he won't be home anytime soon.
He entered the bedroom and sat quietly on the bed, his conflicted thoughts consuming him whole. What if all of it is just one big misunderstanding? Maybe we are wrong, Taehyung just didn't see the picture clearly. And, for all I know, Yoongi's assumptions might be bullshit. Also, I wasn't there when he showed Tae the photo. Can I really trust him?
The only way to know that would be..
His phone rang again. It was Taehyung. This time, he ended the call and threw his phone on the bed, away from him at a distance. He got an impulse to just get up from bed and rummage through his wardrobe. He crouched down and searched through boxes for something.
Then he found it.
A medium sized cardboard box with a ribbon wrapped over. He put it aside and cleaned up the mess he created, pushing the other boxes back at it's place inside the wardrobe and then hastily closed the door.
He picked up the box and sat back on the bed, placing it infront of it as he carefully pulled the ribbon. His heart thumped in his chest, he continuously questioned himself as to why he dug this grave out.
The grave of his painful memories.
He opened the box to reveal letters, a lot of them. All addressed to Kim Taehyung, but without a destination. He took out all the letters, and beneath all those, lay pictures inside the box.
All kinds of memories. A grinning Taehyung, a surprised Taehyung, a pouting Taehyung. And also, a Taehyung smiling happily beside his mother. He picked out the picture of his mom and him and stared at it. Yoongi is wrong. It all must be just a big misunderstanding.. If Taehyung sees this picture, I can prove him wrong.
But what if he's right? What if Taehyung doesn't recognize her? Then--
His thoughts were cut short when he heard the faint sound of the apartment door closing shut. "Hoseok? Are you there?!" A worried, muffled shout brought him to his senses, what is Taehyung doing here?! He panicked and quickly put the pictures back, shoved all the letters into the box, stood up and looked everywhere, where do I hide this?!
