Chapter.3 I Was Fired

I didn't ate my lunch.

If what happened today morning in the presentation was not enough, I got accused of another act, in which I was the culprit,  but was actually a victim.

I went to my office and started to speed up all the works, which I put aside, for paying my full attention to the presentation deal.

After a hour or two, I opened another file in the stack and started reading it, and my heart dropped for the third time that day.

I stood up but it was too late, my door banged open, and it startled so much that I fell right back into my chair.

Chief stood their steaming for the third time of that day.

Behind him stood the security camera's manager.

Right then, I known what was happening. Again a game of Mr Hills. I looked for him, but Icouldn't see him anywhere.

He didn't even bothered to see me humiliated.

"Why didn't you let him pass to repair the security camera systems with a new one" Chief said anger flowing through him.

"Sir, I don't know about that, infact I just checked it, see here is the file." I said.

"Mr Whitehall this time the person reached you and told you the imporatant work that needed to be done, but you ignored it. We lost two days worth of footage in the whole hotel. You know how much of a loss, and danger that it can put us in. This problem can put us in a danger of loosing so much valuable information we might need." He seethed.

"Sir, I am honest, when I say that I didn't ignore it. I remembered that the security manager did come to me with this file. I asked him if I have to check it immediately, and he said that it is not an urgent matter, so I can take time. He would have to just say that the camera system is not working, and I would have taken immediate action. Even if I didn't respond he could go to the manager for immediate action." I said.

"No sir, I did not said it was not urgent. He just said that I have to wait until he further calls me. I waited and waited and finally went to Mr Hills, and he said for me to approach you. So I came to you" he said.

I can see Chief falling for that person's lies.

I felt agitated,"Sir, please!" I said incredulously, "Can't you see that they are playing and lying with you. Don't you feel that it is strange that today of all, every person is coming and complaining on me, with no truth but only their words as proof. Can't you see that they and Mr Hills are trying to put me in a spot" I said probing him.

Maybe that was the last pebble I needed to throw to conform my fate, and it did.

"They are not the once who are playing me, or lying to me. You are, Mr Whitehall. Ignoring all the works needed to run a hotel, all for what? To not complete the work of making two files you are supposed to make, and then putting all the blame on Mr Hills for your incompetence, by saying that he deleted them and lying now. You Are Fired" the last three words rang in my ear.

Mr Smith still thinks that, I lied. He thinks all of that as my fault. I know that he didn't liked me, as he never made me the manager, but I never thought that he disliked me that much, that he was not giving my word any importance. His Assistant Manager, who worked so faithfully for years beside him. He ignored my words over just a security person.

It's over. My goal, ot more like a dream, ended there.

In the moment of that dreadful feeling, it felt like it would have been good, if Mr Hills was present there seeing, atleast his dream of seeing me failed fullfiled finally, my bitterness thought like a cruel joke.
