Chapter 30 I Am Not Immune

After we came back on monday morning I took full day leave on the insistence of Ela.

Ela left me at my house.

I cleaned the house, washed my clothes and worked on my laptop for the day long.

I fell on my bed tired to my bones.

Ela called me saying good night, but did not talk much knowing she had to let me sleep.

In the morning, I went jogging, with Max as usual.

"So how did the trip go with my boss?" He asked as we went with a pace.

A light blush crept up my cheek. "Good," I said timidly.

Max raised a brow at me "Just good! Me, Sudhakar and my boss went so hard to find a place for a perfect trip and spend so much money, and the only compliment you can give is good" he asked exasperated.

I blushed more "You helped too"

"Yes"

"Well, it was great. I mean, it really is, I'm still overwhelmed and dazed about that trip. That's why I was not able to say much." I said looking away from him.

"Does this overwhelmed have anything to do with Ela being hyperactive, glowing and jumping with energy saying she got a boyfriend and that she kissed him, and that he let her." Max asked with a light smirk on his face.

I blushed. "She is jumping!"

"Yeah, and I meant it literally too" he said, his smirk growing.

I blushed more embarrassed instead of the person, who was jumping up and down.

"Is she telling everyone about me?" I asked timidly.

"No" as he said that, I felt something, was it disappointment "I mean she wants too. But she can't do that, because if everyone with her knows about you, it will be dangerous to you. So is trying to not cry out, that you are her boyfriend while jumping" he added with a smirk"literally"

"Ohh..." I said, my blush still as present as ever.

"Ohh, yeah. I only know it because I know about you. But she can't keep her mouth silent about you. She is eating her Nanna's brain with everything that happened. I just don't have time to be near her to listen to her tales. Or she would have already eaten my brain too." He said.

And then he laughed out "You know what! This morning she was skipping on her toes and as soon as she saw me, she begged me to let her come join me too for the exercise, and that mean join you of course, obviously" he winked at me and I blushed looking away, but obviously happy that she wanted too "but we can't let her do that. I said to let her leave my friend to spend time with me at least this time of the day. You want to, right?" He asked me feigning hurt, but also mocking me that I was so into her.

I scowled and nodded "Of course, I will spend time with you!"

He laughed at that. And suddenly his face became serious "Leo" he said and stopped, making me stop with him too "I just want to say that, be careful, I mean be really careful of the people around you. As much as you are the strength and life to Ela, you are that much a weakness of her. I don't really care that much about her as much I worry about you getting hurt in the crossfire of her business"

I gulped. I know that much already. I nodded.

I went back to the house to see Ela sitting on the porch of my house. As soon as she saw me she came to me smiling.

She looks so beautiful when she smiles.

"Ela-"

"Yes" she said as she came and put her hand on my neck to pull me and kiss me right on my lips.
