I went jogging to find that, neither Jack nor Arnold came.
I felt sad, since Arnold used to come daily.
But on one hand, I felt relieved that I didn't have to confront them.
I started eating cornflakes with milk, when I heard some smooth sound of the car in my driveway.
I bought my bowl with me, and opened my door to see Ela in her everyday attire, black tight jeans, white button-up shirt, with a black leather jacket on it, walking up the steps looking at me.
She smiled as she came near me, looking at my surprised expression. She looked into my bowl.
"Eating cornflakes uh, maybe it is the secret of you being handsome" she smirked.
My spoon slipped from my hand into the bowl, and I blinked.
I smiled shyly,"Uh- it's nothing, thank you" I said my hand unconsciously going to the back of my head twiddling with the hair"Please come in" I said remembering that I was making a fool of myself standing with a bowl in my hand.
"Too polite," she said walking in smiling.
She sat in the kitchen chair and looked at me "Please sit down and complete your breakfast, don't mind me" she gestured for me politely.
I wrinkled my nose, "Politeness doesn't suit you that much" I said coming to sit with my bowl.
She laughed "I thought so too. But do you mean I am a waste when it comes to being good?" She glared playfully.
"I didn't meant that. But being the way you are now rough, strong, easy going and being so.... manly yet beautiful nonetheless" my eyes widened at what I said "I meant that, how you are now is perfect, no other qualities need or may appeal as much as these does" I said.
She looked at me for some time without blinking, and I thought I shouldn't have said that much.
Because I never do that. I fear I may say something that will upset them.
Then she blinked and opened her mouth, I waited for her to mock me "At the least you can stop speaking so politely, when you say something like that. It felt like a mechanical robot told me it's feelings." Ela said seriously.
"That hurts" I said feigning hurt.
She smiled "Now sit down and eat. Want to be late to the office?" she questioned me.
I shook my head and sat down eating, all the while she stared at me.
"It's not good manners to stare at other person, when they are eating," I said.
"Shut up, and eat" she responded simply.
I made a protesting sound but just ate silently. I gulped down the milk in a hurry , making her chuckle.
I looked at her after I put my bowl down, and she stared right at me.
I do not know what I was doing suddenly, or what to do right then.
Her chuckle just made me look at her, and now it is hard to look away.
I never felt like this. That only made me think......
Was she just really my friend anymore? Do I feel that anymore?
Thank god that she helped me, "Go and get ready" she said.
I nodded and stood up with my bowl, but she stopped me, taking the bowl from my hands and gestures for me to go.
I nodded like the good boy I was.
