Chapter.17 Was She Really My Friend Anymore?

The ringing of my phone woke me up.

"Hello" I said in my sleepy voice.

"Good morning, Leo"

My eyes opened fully at once "Ela? This early morning- oh hi, good morning"

"Told you, I will call you in the morning. I wanted to be the first one to call you today" she said.

"Okay" I said.

"So have any plans today after office?" she asked conversationally.

"Yeah, Arnold asked me to come with him and his friend Max," I said.

"Max?" She questioned.

"Yes Maxm we met him in the club. Seems to be a nice guy, he helped me a little when Arnold was drunk." I said.

"Does Arnold like this Max person? " she asked seriously.

"Ah... what do you mean by like?"

Ela sighed "Leo, you know what I am asking, and do not feel like you are cheating Arnold. I already know he is gay" she said.

"You know that!"

"Yes, now answer me" she said.

Seems like she does background check on every person.

"Well actually Max is bisexual, and he likes Arnold. But Arnold doesn't know what to do. That's it, I am not saying any more. It is not my story to tell you" I said.

"That was enough. So what do you suggest Arnold to do?" She asked me.

"Me! I don't know. Arnold has some other problems, which are stopping him from accepting Max, but I think..... he should give it a try. Forget I said it, today I am going to see Max, we will see where it leads" I said.

"Ok, but remember Leo, it's Arnold, who has to choose. It has to be his choice from heart." She said.

"Okay". I Am not making his choice why you warn me?

"Ok bye, Leo" she said softly.

Jack was in office, before I was. Talking with the person, who manages the hotel at night.

"Good morning Jack" I greeted.

"Arnold is not here yet?" he asked.

"I always come early, than required, and you came earlier than me, so he won't be here yet," I said.

He smiled cheekily, embarrassed. I started walking to my office and he followed me.

I put my suitcase on my desk and turned around.

"So Jack, do you want to be there with the designers today, to see how they work?" I asked.

"No, I want to do the actual work. Being the new president, there is so much, I have to study at this company" Jack said.

I smiled. For once he seemed to be serious.

"So care to help me in getting a map of this company,"he asked.

"You know I have an inspection today too, and so many files I have to review" I said.

"Chief-"

"No, no chief! It is my work, and I have to have a tab on what's going on, or it will make me unable to work efficiently." I said seriously.

Suddenly Jack's eyes glowed, "How about your assistant? He can help me" he said.

Arnold? No way, he might kill me, for putting him near Jack.
