Headcanon one day when the Marauders are running late for class the staircase moves.
Remus: *groans* WE CANNOT BE LATE WE HAVE EXAMS IN TWO WEEKS!
Sirius: Aww loosen up Moons!
James: An excuse to skip! Awesome!
James & Sirius: *highfive*
Peter: *confused* Does this mean no class?
Staircase: *moves to the entrance they need to go through*
Just as the staircase is about to move...
Remus: *whips out wand and points it at the staircase* Petrificus Totalus!
Staircase: *freezes, the tip barely touching the corridor*
Sirius: Moons...
James: You're no fun...
Remus: *glares at them dead in the eye* You already have five detentions this week. Do you want any more?
Peter: *raises hands in surrender* Okay okay. Full moon in two days. We get i-
Remus: *snarls* Come on!
They run to class and make it there just before Flitwick.
