The Broomstick Incident

I dare you to tell me that James Potter, the ultimate Quidditch fan, did not sneak out in the middle of the night to the school broomshed to try to fly on one of the school's broomsticks as a first year.

And he absolutely dragged an excited Sirius Black, a scared Remus Lupin and a nervous Peter Pettigrew along with him.

So please give me a young James Potter waking up all his friends because, "Come on, it'll be fun!" without explaining what the hell he wants to do.

And when they get to the broomshed Remus just stops dead in his tracks and goes, "Okay no. NO. Absolutely NOT."

He is of course roped into trying with the others.

The four of them climb onto ONE broomstick (as though it would fit!) and try to take off.

Surprisingly, the broom DOES leave the ground, but suddenly it justs decides it can't take the weight of so many people and throws Remus, who doesn't seem to want to be there anyway, off.

The problem is they're several feet in the air.

Thankfully James and Sirius reached out and grabbed one of Remus' arms each just before he hit the ground.

Remus is shaking a little (He was eleven and the full moon was three days ago) and he said, "There is a reason I don't like heights. Brooms hate me. I don't know why."
