I sat up holding a brush in my hand. shunsui-sama brought this for me so I wasn't bord our if my mid while was condemned to bed rest.

I wasn't really thinking as I let the brush glide across the canvas. It helped calm my chaotic mind. I haven't painted on such a long time it was nice.

I let; reds, pinks, whites, blacks, creams and other colours dance across the page and after a few hours of painting I took a step back see g what I painted.

As I did a blush came to my face seeing I unconsciously painted captain Kuchiki.

I blushed and shook my head. I must if painted him because I respect him as a mentor. Yea that's why. That has to be why. There's no other explanation.

I heard footsteps and I quickly sat in front of the painting.  There as a knock and Shunsui-sama walked in, He looked at me and sat down in front of me. He held worry in his gaze. I smiled. He looked at me hiding the canvas and smiled.

"can I see?" He asked.

I blushed but moved to the side. He looked at it and nodded.

"I see you are truly talented. But I must ask why Byakuya?" He questioned.

I blushed more.

"I didn't even notice okay, but it's because I respect him as a mentor," I said with a huff.

Pain shot through my body and I groaned and Shunsui-sama leaned forward catching my falling body.

"don't overexert yourself, You are badly injured." He said worriedly.

"I'm only injured because of my weakness and inability to defend myself," I said with slight bitterness in my voice.

I realised what I said and smiled giving a forced laughed. Shunsui-sama sighed and leaned me down on my bed and ruffled my hair.

"many soul reapers have died to grand fisher but you didn't after being worn out from fighting other hollows, plus that was your first-time fighting hollows. I must say I'm impressed by your skill." He said and left.

I was left alone and I cuddled into the blankets finding myself being overcome by the need for sleep.

Byakuya finished filling out paperwork and sent it off. he then looked at more paperwork he had to do. But he found himself distracted as his thoughts wandered to Akiko and her bloodied body. If he didn't send her on that mission she wouldn't have been so badly injured.

He knew she could have died, she nearly did. If he didn't get there when he did she wouldn't have survived, He blamed himself for her state. The pain she was in and how she suffered.

But he was impressed and proud. With how new she was she shouldn't have survived. The mission wasn't supposed to be that dangerous and she fought through with skill that no one expected from her. She has impressed many. He had no doubt the paperwork he sent offer would be accepted.
