Chance Lively and Charlie Swan woke up early one Wednesday morning, both ready for the day; Charlie in his chief uniform and Chance in a black t shirt and leather jacket with patterned black, white and grey shorts with black tights and black Adidas trainers with a maroon beanie. It had been exactly two months since Chance had joined the pack and Sam Uley had her working hard.

Both of them standing outside Bella Swan's room, Bobby, Chance's golden retriever sitting by the door with his head titled in confusion.

Charlie and Chance both heard Bella awake, but Chance didn't show it, her adoptive dad still thought she was deaf and by revealing her ability to hear again, he would get suspicious. It was impossible for Chance Lively to get her hearing back.

Chance watched as Charlie knocked on the door, balancing two presents in his free arm whereas Chance simply held two small boxes in one hand.

Charlie opened the door and the two entered, Bobby following after and jumping onto Bella's bed to kiss her. Chance felt her eyes crinkle in amusement as Bella giggled at Bobby before sitting up.

"Happy birthday Bella!" Chance signed, placing the two boxes on her bedside table. She heard Charlie repeat her words and Bella sighed at them.

"Guys, we agreed, no presents." Bella argued in sign and words. Chance gave her a look and Bella suppressed a smile at their antics.

Charlie handed her a camera and a wrapped present. Renee - Bella's mother - had gotten her the wrapped present whereas Charlie left his unwrapped knowing that Bella hated surprises. Chance's gifts weren't technically wrapped, just put into small velvet boxes that she had had for god knows how long. She knew how much Bella loved those boxes so they would be presents within themselves.

Bella opens Renee's gift as Charlie explained how they coordinated before they began talking about how it had already been almost a year since she came to live with him and Chance.

"I don't know, is that a wrinkle?" Chance watched Charlie say and she giggled as Bella ran over to the mirror to check her face for wrinkled before turning around with a relieved smile, "I was kidding." Charlie joked with a smile.

"Not so funny, Dad." Bella sighed before he left for work. Chance sat herself in Bella's bed.

"Open mine!" Chance clapped, throwing Bella the box from her. The now eighteen year old gave her adoptive sister a withering look,

"No presents." Bella signed, throwing it back, but Chance sighed and launched it back to her. To Chance's relief, she opened it and pulled out a Ying necklace, Chance lifted up her Yang necklace. Bella leaned forwards and pulled her in for a hug.

Then Chance threw her the second box, "from Sam, Jared and Paul." Chance signed over, "they wanted to get you something - even though you don't really know them." Bella sighed before opening to see a pair of earrings with copper wolf heads howling in each of them.

Bella couldn't help it, she grinned and put them on before getting Chance to clasp the necklace around her neck. "Gorgeous." Chance commented before leaving the room so Bella could get dressed.

After Bella dressed, Chance got Bobby ready jumped into the red head truck and waited for her sister to start up the engine, which she did, before they set off.

Once they reached school, Chance allowed Bobby to jump out, her following and then Bella followed, Chance turned to catch Mike Newton talking to her sister so she decided to head straight into school, but Angela beckoned her over.
