"Give me a minute to hold my girl
Give me a minute to hold my girl"

~George Ezra "Hold My Girl"

The next day, Chance and Bobby were curled up on the sofa with Charlie, watching the purge, each holding a bottle of beer and holding a plate of toasties placed on their laps.

As promised, Chance stayed home, and with Sam's permission was relieved of her duties so Charlie didn't get suspicious.

The brunette girl couldn't hold in her snort as she watched her another death take place. If she was completely honest, most horror movies didn't scare her anymore, she was reminded that everyday was a nightmare for her, inescapable. And Chance blamed Jasper. He was everywhere she looked.

He was sitting on the sofa at the end of her bed, watching her like he did when she was sick, giving her that one sided smirk as he watched her be her. He was in her living room, wearing a pristine suit as he visited her before prom, his body relaxed as he waited for Alice to finish talking to Bella. He was in the driveway where he caught her after she shot herself with a jet of water and slipped. He was laughing at her sarcastic remarks in her kitchen. He was inside the restaurant where Bella had asked her about her crush, where he simply stared at her in awe. He was in the parking lot that Charlie parked in to get to the diner, in the exact spot Edward's Volvo had saved her and Bella. Chance Lively was still infatuated with Jasper Hale, and she didn't know why..

Her heart was ripped into pieces, sucked dry of every romantic emotion she ever felt towards him. Her head however, that was a different case, her head was buzzing, attacking her with thoughts of his smooth marble skin, his honey blonde hair, his amber eyes, his odd fashion sense. Everything.

Slowly, Chance took a single bite out of her toastie, savouring the taste of melted mozzarella cheese that accompanied the tomato and ham that were also inside. She let out a content sigh as the hot food burned the inside of her mouth as the flavours melted in her mouth.

The movie, in Chance's opinion was short and boring, she only snorted at the deaths because they were so predictable in her eyes. She simply couldn't help it. She found it amusing that Charlie would grimace at every death that popped up and ended up taking entertainment from watching his face every time something happened.

"You're such a baby for the chief of police." Chance teased him with raised eyebrows once he switched off the TV to start getting ready as today he was taking Chance out to get more clothes as they had been 'mysteriously disappearing' constantly.

"No, you're just unusually unsqueamish." He retaliated before disappearing up the stairs to get out of his pyjamas, followed by Chance and Bobby a minute or so later.

She ended up dressing herself in a lace sleeveless shirt with a black jacket and a black knitted beanie. She wore a pair of short with some Doctor Who Tardis canvas shoes.

After some small contemplation, Chance even decided to put on some makeup to hide her bags and because she wanted to look presentable today so Charlie didn't have to be reminded that Chance was still slightly upset, although it was barely seen.

Her eyes grazed over when she saw something out the corner of her eyes; it was a picture of Rosalie and herself which Chance had printed out a week or so before Jasper's prom.

She and Rosalie were cross-eyed and wore face masks as they attempted to play monopoly in Chance's room. They were both clad in thick jumpers and a pair of shorts each with their bare feet resting on the back of the sofa.

Chance remembered the day as if it was yesterday, Rosalie had came round the Swan household for studying after school, but none of them felt up for studying, so they both got into some comfy clothes before playing a game of monopoly quietly so they didn't wake Bobby - who did eventually awaken and destroy their board, but they were too happy to let it bother them.
