"My girl, my girl
It takes one hot second to turn it around
It takes one hot second to turn it around"~ George Ezra "Hold My Girl"
Anger built up like a cannon ball inside of Chance as she threw a fleece jumper at Bella's face, feeling no remorse for her sister's stupid and reckless behaviour.
Jacob had called her ten minutes after Billy left stating that Bella had decided to go cliff diving, despite the storm raging around them and left him having to resuscitate her.
"Put it on!" Chance ordered, also throwing her a dry pair of clothes - a pair of Emily's jogging bottoms and one of her vest tops that she kept in Paul's room. "We're going straight home." A low growl escaped Chance's lisp when she saw Bella go to protest, "don't you dare, not today." Bella immediately closed her mouth and left to change without a single protest more, her eyes fluttering with tears at Chance's growing anger that seemed to be getting worse with every passing second.
Eventually, when Bella re emerged, Jacob climbed into the drivers seat of Paul's truck, Bella sliding in the passenger seat so Chance and Bobby could curl up and sulk in the back together.
Rolling her eyes, Chance watched as her pack member wrapped his arm around a still shivering Bella, who looked heartbroken at her sister's distance.
"Hundred and eight degrees over here." Jacob pointed out, watching as Bella tucked herself in around him in order to use his heat to her advantage.
"Must be nice.." Bella began, "never getting cold." She specified, Chance scoffed in annoyance, tears streaming down her face. Immediately, Bella felt bad.
Not paying attention to Chance to prevent a breakdown behind the wheel, Jacob replied with, "its a wolf thing."
"It's a Jacob thing. You're just.. warm." Bella flirted, causing Chance to cover her ears so she could mourn without any more suffering.
"Like the sun." Jacob replied, Bella copying his words in confirmation seconds later.
Upon checking on Chance via the mirror, Jacob decided to distract Chance, "there are other cool things about all this. Like I heal fast." He shot Chance a small grin, which she just stared numbly at, "wanna see me stab my had?" He asked them both,
"Yeah, cause that would be fun." Chance mumbled sarcastically, rolling her eyes at Jacob's stupidity.
Slowly, Jacob parked the car at the curb of the house and Chance wasted no time in opening the door, but she immediately slammed it closed as a smell hit both her nose and Jacob's.
"Holy Crap!" Jacob cried in disgust, he blocked Bella from opening her door. "There's a bloodsucker out there." He announced for them both to hear.
"How do you know?" Bella asked, Turing to see Chance's also disgusted face.
"Two." The shifter informed her pack mate, "there's two." They both sighed, before Jacob explained that they could pick up the Vampire's smell.
The headlights illuminated a familiar car to the sisters as Jacob spun the car around. "Stop! It's not Victoria-." Bella tried calling but Chance cut her off.
"Faster." She gritted out, pain soaking her words as she recognised Carlisle's car. The memories began to flood through her.
"Forget it." Jacob told Bella as she begged him to stop, if anything, he obeyed Chance's request by speeding up. Bella tried desperately to convince him and Chance, but neither budged.
Chance let out an agitated gasp as she literally had to pull Bella back into the car as she tried to dive out of a window. Angrily, Jacob pulled up on the side of the road, and immediately, Bella was out of the car and racing towards her home.
