The next day, Chance got a text from her father, claiming that she had to come home at one point because he was sick of having to ask Billy if he had seen her recently.

CHARLIE:
-honestly, Chance. You're never home anymore and I know you're healing and trying so hard to get your life back to normal but you have to come home at some point.
- you don't come home from school until past ten because you were with the boys and I don't see you in the morning because you're always gone by the time I wake up,
-please just spend some more time with me and Bella.. she's back to normal.
-well, she's close. But she's improving.

Chance glanced up at Embry, Jared, Paul and Sam who were casually lounging around the kitchen, each holding a muffin as Emily watched them with a smile on her face.

Sam caught her loving look at beckoned her over, forcing the girl to leave her dads message on 'read'.

"We're having a debate." Jared announced, a playful smile lighting up his face, mischievously clapping his hands together. "And we need your opinion."

Emily gave Chance a pleading stare, "please don't get involved, it's the stupidest debate ever!" She claimed, with no hint of lying in her face or words.

"I'll see.. I just need to answer Charlie first." Chance announced, turning her phone on before hesitating.

CHANCE:
- I'll stay home for a day or two.. but the guys were planning on a hike at some point and I don't want to miss it.

Sam was suddenly behind Chance, reading over her shoulder with a small smile, "Charlie is growing slightly suspicious.." Sam reminded her, seeing her downcast face. She jumped, high into the air before Embry laughed loudly and she threw an apple at his head, which he caught with ease and took a bite out of it.

"Sam. You've got to learn to make your appearances a lot less freaky unless we're biting a leeches head off." She growled playfully, shoving him away and approaching Emily with open arms before the two girls hugged each other.

"Chance is my real imprint!" Emily sighed dramatically as Chance let out a triumphant smirk and placed her head onto Emily's shoulder. Sam rolled his eyes in annoyance, used to the two females pretending to be in a relationship to piss him off. "See that Chance, Sam won't even fight for me!" Emily taunted whilst Chance snorted.

"Yeah, it's because we're girls. If I were Paul or Jared or Embry, he would have ripped me apart like I was a useless piece of steak!" Chance teased, watching Sam smile in annoyance, running his hand over his face.

Embry looked down at his hands to avoid Sam's gaze as he grinned whilst Paul and Jared had to turn away to avoid Sam's stare as they laughed.

"Don't worry, I'd never let that goofball hurt you!" Emily giggled, releasing Chance so she could give her fiancée a warm hug. Chance gasped in faux shock.

"Emily!" She gaped, letting her face drop, "fine! Looks like I'm with Embry now." Chance sighed, faux glaring at the older female before jumping onto Embry's lap, who gave her a disgusted look before pushing her off.

She laughed loudly before yanking him into the floor on top of her before Chance called Paul over, "save me, Lahote! Embry is an abusive boyfriend!" Paul shook his head in amusement as Embry pulled Chance up by her hands.
