"Give me a minute to hold my girl
Give me a minute to hold my girl"~George Ezra "Hold My Girl"
As soon as Chance a Bella had reached home, Bella was hyperventilating, but Chance had her head turned against the window, so she had no choice but to pretend that she was clueless.
Casually, Chance jumped out of the truck with her bag slamming against her knee as she allowed Bobby to lead her to the door, which she found Harry Clearwater and her father standing behind cleaning off their fishing poles.
"Chance." Charlie warned, seeing how disgusting and sick she looked, "what's wrong? You look like you're on drugs." Chance narrowed her eyes at her father figure before dropping her bag at the door.
"Is everyone assuming I'm on drugs now?" She pointed out, "first Bella and Jacob, then everyone at school and now you." Charlie looked shocked for a second before he sighed and carefully placed his pole on the ground, Harry gave her a knowing look,
"She's not on drugs, Charlie." Harry helped out, "Sam and Chance have been taking a lot of hikes and he's been teaching her how to defended herself- there's a lot of rough and tough kids at the Rez, he's just looking out for her and she's pushing herself too hard." Charlie turned to his friend with a frown,
"I just don't understand why she hangs around with him, he's like three years older than her - isn't his girlfriend her art teacher?" Charlie pointed out, crossing his arms in defiance.
"His fiancée, yes. But she's friends with Paul and Sam and Paul are quite close, naturally, they became friends. Sam sees her like a little sister and his fiancée sees her as a daughter. They're good people. Everyone on the Rez just doesn't understand them." Charlie let out a loud sigh at this new information before turning back to Chance who still stood there with a passive look about her face.
"I'm sorry, hunny. I'm just worried about you." Charlie explained with dad eyes. Understanding his position, Chance gave him a small smile before picking up her bag and disappearing up the stairs.
The second she disappeared from view with Bobby padding along beside her, Bella burst in, a frantic look about her. "Bella? What's wrong?" Charlie asked urgently, spinning on his heel to face his biological daughter.
"They're not giant bears! I saw them! Up in a meadow!" Bella practically shouted, tears welling up in her eyes at the thought of them and their abnormal height.
Charlie shot her a furious look, "damn it! I told you not to go into the woods!" He argued, feeling agitated about his two daughters mental states.
Harry was slightly more quiet, but still angry and curious, "what did you see Bella?" He asked calmly, though Bella could see the knowing flint in his eyes. Though, she elected to ignore this.
"Wolves." She informed Harry, before turning to her father, "they're wolves, dad." She informed her father honestly, above them, they could hear Chance begin to pace, scaring Charlie slightly more - she seemed to be becoming more and more stressed recently.
"Six of them." Bella began, her eyes wide and her breath ragged due to her previous hyperventilating. "The size of - of cars! I swear! They were after -." Bella cut herself off, hesitating about what she should tell her father and Harry. The latter seeming slightly more concerned at this, "something.. and I ran." Charlie let out a breath at this, knowing that the brunette had some type of common sense.
Slowly, Charlie picked up the house phone and began to dial a number, "Harry, can you get some men from the Rez?" He asked, giving his friend a pleading look.
