Chapter two - Leaving Her Behind

Chance walked home that night, the boys had gotten drunk and she didn't want to risk crashing and slipped away from them all quickly. When she finally made it home, she gagged at the sight of Edward and Bella kissing outside of her truck.

She loudly gagged at them and they pulled apart, Edward looking weirdly relieve whereas Bella looked dissatisfied. Bella begrudgingly let Edward go and walked back into the house, Chance gave him a withering look, seeing Bella's face and Edward froze.

"I don't know what you done, but you're going to fix it." Chance signed to him and strolled into the house, leaving Edward standing there.

When Chance entered the house, Bella was looking downcast and slightly worried, Chance approached her with a frown.

"What's wrong?" She signed to her, hoping her sister would let her in, after all, it was her birthday.

The next day, after Chance dressed herself, she knew it was going to be a terrible day, she could feel it in the atmosphere of the truck as Bella drove her to school. And she hated it.

Once they reached school, Chance immediately noticed that Edward was not in, and she knew it had to do something with last night, so she scowled and let Bobby drag her through the day. Bella sat with her friends at lunch but Chance stayed with the Cullen's, leaning on Jasper with a dejected face, petting Bobby absentmindedly.

No one at the table made conversation, none of them uttered even a breath that day. It was just cold silence.

That was until they got home, Chance saw Edward standing in their driveway and she immediately jumped out of the truck, giving him a pointed looked before making her way inside to put a microwave pizza in the oven for them.

Two hours later, Charlie and Chance had finished their Pizza and Chance got an urgent mind link from Sam. "The leeches skipped town." Sam informed them all, at first, they all cheered before realising Chance's silence.

They knew that she was mates with Jasper and how she was on the fence about it all, but they could feel her love for him so they all began to say sorry to her.

Chance's brain was slow to pick it up, but she eventually did, "if the Cullen's skipped town, then who is with my sister.. they walked into the woods two hours ago.." that's when Chance began to get frantic.

She got Paul to text her in confirmation so Charlie knew before things got out of hand.

Charlie called the team after Bella's phone went to voicemails multiple times and the Cullen's never answered. Chance however, got the pack over along with the elders and Jacob Black and his friend Quil.

Sam and Chance found themselves trudging through the woods with Bobby plodding along with them at around midnight, still searching for Bella. Chance was pissed. Bella just ran away, the Cullen's were gone and Bella disappeared. Carlisle had told the wolves that Edward had broken up with Bella so she could lead a normal life.

That's why they were still out. Looking for a stupid human girl who got her heart taken by a monster.

The two had taken to their wolf forms and used their noses to smell her out. Which they did, as soon as she saw them however, she backed off into the trees in a desperate attempt to hide.

With a sigh, they shifted back and changed into their clothes that they had around their legs, Chance hastily leashing Bobby back up.

"I'll carry her, you clear a path." Sam ordered, scooping up the passed out girl and trudging off, Chance and Bobby in front.
