Chapter sixteen - Adding Quil To The Equation

Chance Lively wasn't surprised when she returned to Sam's house after a day of sulking to introduce the newest member of the pack - Quil Ateara - to her. She heard their celebratory howls, but she was excused from going due to emotional pain of seeing her imprint without doing anything but running away.

She also wasn't surprised when Billy showed up to check on her per Charlie's request once hearing that Jasper and Alice had returned back to Forks for a short while. He understood that she wanted to stay away from Forks and promised to see her at Harry's funeral - of which Bella wouldn't be attending.

"So, Quil." Chance sighed as she and Emily cut his hair on Annie's decking who was helpfully answering questions that he threw at the girls busy with his hair. "How do you like getting your freedom snatched away from you?" She asked sarcastically, he had been for-warned that Chance was currently the most hot headed, most sarcastic member of the pack - and after getting an explanation to follow this warning, he understood and didn't take anything to heart, in fact, after he got his hair cut, he was becoming Chance's trainee on boarder control for a while until he learned the ropes.

"It's fucking amazing." He replied with equal sarcasm. "Add me to the equation and we may as well be the fucking Weasley's but much cooler." For the first time since her encounter with Jasper, Chance almost smiled before Emily whacked him in the head for swearing.

In truth, Quil was the only one of the entire pack to be happy about shifting. He was happy to have his friends back, a new life and 'cool new powers' as he put it to their amusement. He thought it was a great way to live, saving people from bloodsucking vampires..

After they had both shifted, Chance and Quil trotted the perimeter for a few minutes before Quil picked up on a terrible smell. "Do we have skunks?" He asked, obviously repulsed by the smell, Chance recognised it as two scents.

"Quil. Stay beside me and don't you dare do anything without my order." Chance commanded as they approached a part of the treaty line that sat at a stream of which the Cullen's house could be seen just past the mini cliff that shrouded the vampire side. "Were bearing their territory." Her words was venomous, but her growl is what attracted Alice and Jasper, who were now standing at the top of the rocks, looking down at them.

The hackles on their backs rose as Chance snapped her teeth menacingly, before she pushed Quil away with her snout before he done something he'd regret.

Quil was a beautiful wolf in Chance's opinion with his deep chocolate fur that was lighter in his face. She had heard Sam and Embry joke once or twice when he first shifted that his. Fur matched his sweet personality and he was the perfect interpretation of what they should be.

"God, I just want to rip them up." Quil growled, letting out some anger he didn't know he had, Chance barked out a laugh at this.

"You take the blonde on. I've got the brunette." She joked to him before they continued on their training session. Jasper couldn't help it, he felt depressed at the fact that Chance was somewhere within the protection of the two wolves, one that radiated complete hate, clouding the off white wolf's emotions from him.

"It's ok.." Alice huffed out, "the future is fuzzy around Bella, but Chance is definitely there." She assured before they both turned away and back to their house to report back to their family..

I know this chapter was short, but beef is going to happen in the next one, so I wanted to make this chapter brief and as a sort of introduction to Quil.
