Bad Timing

A week later.............

I missed my period only by a few days and it wouldn't the first time my cycle was out of wack but I couldn't help but think maybe it's for a different reason. I hadn't told Sherlock what I was doing but if he did know and it turns out I'm not pregnant I don't want to disappoint him. I told Mary about my suspicions just so I could get Sherlock out of the house and take a pregnancy test. So, Mary and I decided we would have a girl day at the flat with Rosie and Sherlock and John went on a case. John came before Mary and picked up Sherlock. "I got the thing you needed." Mary said as she walked into the flat with Rosie in her arms and plastic bag around her wrist.

"Thank you, so much." I smiled at her as she handed me the bag.

"So tell me again why you didn't want Sherlock to know." She requested.

"I don't want to get his hopes up if I'm not pregnant." I told her again.

"Well, what are you waiting for. Go take it. I want to know if I'll be a godmother anytime soon." Mary smiled at me as she set Rosie in John's chair. I walked back to the bathroom and took the test. After that I waited the recommended wait time and looked at the stick. I walked back out to the living room and Mary was entertaining Rosie but she instantly looked up when she saw me. "So, what's the verdict?"

"You are going to be a fantastic godmother." I smiled at her.

"OH MY GOD." She said happily then hugging me. Tears happily went down my face and I couldn't help but smile then the truth set it. The Oracle was still after my head on a platter.

"The timing sucks though. With The Oracle wanting to kill me." I sighed, my smile falling.

"Another reason why we have to win this." She told me. "Now you just have to tell him. I doubt he will take it badly for the sound of his vows he has been planning on having a family with you for years."

"I mean after the miscarriage we talked about it and both agreed one day we wanted to have kids together." I told her, honestly. Rosie then crawled out of John's chair and pulled on my shirt, telling me she wanted me to hold her. I picked her up instantly and she nuzzled into my chest.

"It will be interesting to have a little genius around." Mary smiled. Eventually Mrs. Hudson came up and joined us but we didn't tell her about me being pregnant because I want the next person to know to be Sherlock. Plus she would have given it away the moment Sherlock got here and want to be the one to tell him.

"That was a pointless case John! I don't even know why you made me go. It was so obvious even Scotland Yard could have solved it." I heard Sherlock complain as he walked up the stairs, John following.

"Ask Mary. She is the one who made me take you on a case so I just picked one at random." John said, defending himself. "She didn't even tell me why. Just something about 'girl time'." They walked into the flat and Sherlock stopped and looked at Mary, obviously feeling something is off.

"What's going on?" My husband asked immediately.

"Come on, John, Mrs. Hudson. Let's give the married couple their privacy." Mary smiled as she walked down stairs with Rosie, John and Mrs. Hudson following her.

"Why do we need our privacy?" Sher asked confused as hell.

"Because, I wanted you to know before John and Mrs. Hudson." I told him.

"What is going on, Sam, you know I hate surprises." He told me.

"This is a good surprise with really bad timing." I began, "Sherlock, I'm pregnant." I saw a smile appear on his face and his eyes light up.
